My phone started chirping on the bedside table. I was still reading my book. I had long finished the chapter on pregnancy - Spoiler alert, a wolf's gestational period is only 26 weeks - and I was now coming to the end of a fascinating chapter on self-healing. What an eye-opener! I remembered back to the car journey that I shared with Peyton and Finn on the day he found me again. Peyton had bet me I wouldn't jump out of the passenger door whilst he was reversing, knowing full well that I wouldn't know about how durable wolves really were.
I cringed as I thought back to what a total asshole I had been. I would apologize for my behavior when Peyton got back from the hospital. Now that we had mated, it killed me that I had hurt his feelings. It was something
