Amelia's Point of View. It was another couple of hours before Peyton returned. I still hadn't left my room, and during that entire time I had only put my book down once when my ears had been filled with the sound of howls. I'd jumped out of my skin when the noise had started. It was incredibly loud and came from every direction. But once I'd got over the initial shock of the volume and listened to the contents, it reduced me to tears. The noise was sorrowful and mournful.
