The Dark Prince

Standing by the creek in the backyard of her house, Jalissa MacQuoid, whose friends called her Jai ,  watched some small fish swimming around. At seventeen, Jai was a Senior in High School, she had long dark hair that reached the middle of her back and light blue eyes, though she was not chubby per say she did have that extra weight that she hated. She was not very popular at school but she did have a couple of friends she was very close to who knew just about everything about her.  Hearing footsteps she turned to see Caleb and Rose Danksworth walking close to her speaking in whispers to each other, being twins both of them had hair that if looked different then anyone she had ever seen before, if you looked just right it would seem like it was sliver , and their eyes both violet. She smiled to herself before speaking to them " Hey Guys"   Caleb was the first to look up and smile, she was always hypnotized by his smile. She had to take a deep breath. " Hey Jai, got away from your family I see?"  he chuckled before stopping before her. He glanced over at his sister Rose and nudged her shoulder a bit to get her attention, it seemed she was reading something on her cell and wasn't paying attention, smiling Rose looked up at Jai  " Hey Jai " was all she said before looking back at her cell.   Jai just laughed " Yes I was able to sneak away, though I am sure it won't be long before you hear them screaming for me to come back to the plantation"  she shook her head " sometimes I wish I could just hurry up and graduate just to move away. " When the two stopped before her, she tilted her head " Rose, what is going on? why do you look so happy after reading what ever is on your cell?" she asked. Rose looked up and grinned " Our Older brother, Josh , is finally coming home. He just texted me to let me know that his plane will be landing tonight"   Jai looked at Caleb then back at Rose before she spoke " Josh is coming home?" she had not had a chance to meet him as she was always locked up at home, this being her Senior year her father finally let her join public school, so she could at least get some kind of scholarship or something. All Jai was happy about was she was gonna be able to get out of her Father’s home and the eyes of her older brother.    Rose just smiled huge " Yes I can't wait for you to meet him, Jai , He is different from us but looks just like us. He has been away for almost a year now, but said he would come see us graduate in two months" Rose looked excited as she spoke , Caleb just shook his head at her but chuckled to himself. When all three of them took a seat on one of the rocks, Jai looked over at Caleb " are you not happy for him to come home?" she laughed.   Caleb just smiled at her and shook his head " Nah, he can stay away for all I care, he always takes what is mine when he comes around" he gave her a look and she just stared for a second, no way was he talking about her was he? They never talked about themselves like that..   Jai just laughed " that’s what big brothers do don't you know that? I have three and they always take what is mine."  She lived on a big plantation where she had three older brothers, one older sister and two younger brothers and sisters. Her father has been married twice, but for some reason she never has met the first wife or known what had happened to her. She always thought that parents would go to the mother, but now her Father has custody of all his kids. She didn't like to get on his bad side at all, she wasn't scared of him but she feared enough she knew he would punish her if he knew half the things she had done since she started Public school.   When Caleb spoke it brought her back to what they were talking about "Yea I am sure, but still I don't have to like it," he chuckled.. Rose just shook her head and laughed " he won't be here long Caleb just till after we graduate in two months" all Caleb did was nod. They stopped talking about their brother for a while as they spoke about school and exams coming up. The reason she snuck away was so she can study with them, though none of them brought books to study. That was gonna be the excuse if she got caught. A couple of hours later she started hearing her name being yelled , jumping up she cursed to herself " dammit I didn't realize how late it's getting I need to get back" . Caleb and Rose stood up with her and gave her a hug. " Text me later " Rose whispered when she gave her a quick hug." Let me know if he touches you again" Caleb growled in her ear when she gave him a hug  Jai laughed and waved to them both before running back towards her home.
