Chapter 1: I'm not done with you yet!
Lylia's POV: I stood up from the dressing table, walking to stand in front of the full-length mirror. I was stunned to see the reflection of myself in the purple evening gown that shimmered under the candlelight, accentuating my curves. Like it was tailor-made for me. “My lady, you are so beautiful!” My maid whispered behind me, beaming with smiles. “Hmm…” I replied, feeling satisfied with my beauty. My beauty was my trump card, though it often landed me in troubles. Attracting suitors that I would never want. Or ones that my sister, Odessa could only admire. Probably, that was the source of her resentment towards me. My eyelashes dropped slightly, my mind racing with thoughts. “Piper, do you think Thayer would mark me tonight?” I asked nervously, my voice barely above a whisper. Piper moved closer to me, gripping my shoulders from behind,”My lady, don't overthink things, Alpha Thayer would definitely mark you..” she said. I nodded softly, but I couldn't brush off my unease. I wanted to surprise him tonight, to satisfy his wish of having a night with me. But I still doubt if he would want to mark me as his mate. I often heard the other Omegas discussing about how their mates rejected them, or slept with them without marking them. “Sigh..I hope he does,” I muttered under my breath. I took a last glance at myself in the mirror before picking up my purse and shoes. I opened the door, glancing around the dimly lit living room, but I couldn't see the shadow of my parents, and I heaved a sigh of relief. I motioned my maid with my hand, and we both tiptoed out of the house. My parents would definitely stop me from going out if they saw me this dressed, because, I must not outshine their daughter, Odessa. Perhaps, it was a mistake, or probably my own fault for being born as an omega, and I must suffer the consequences. For being naturally beautiful. And for being a weak omega. It was when we got a little far away from my house that I finally put my shoes down. “Ah..” I wiped away the bead of sweat that had formed on my forehead. “Sneaking out of the house isn't easy, really..” I grumbled as Piper helped me with my shoes. I could have put them on myself, but Piper would never agree. She believed she was my maid, and should do everything for me. And that was why she was my favorite, among the other maids. She never for once disrespected me or show contempt like the others. Piper patted the dust off her hand as stood up. “My lady, it's all done. Let's go,” she said. The street was already silent, and the only sound was the from our feet. We walked into the darkness and our only source of light was from the moon. *** As we stopped in front of Thayer's imposing mansion, my heart beat accelerated. “My lady, don't be nervous, just ask Alpha Thayer to be gentle.” Piper whispered into my ears. My ears turned red like tomatoes, and I quickly covered my ears. I glanced at Piper, blinking twice as hard. Who would have thought that this gentle, quiet girl had such a wild side of hers. “I’m going in now..” I said, holding the door handle. “Just go in already.” Piper pushed me in, shutting the door behind me. “Ah.." I staggered a few steps, stopping in front of a pair of male and female shoes. Then my unease resurfaced again, deeper than before. “Did Thayer's sister visit him?” I questioned myself, but my face grew pale when I observed the shoes clearly. I couldn't mistake Odessa's shoes, not with the special design patterns on them. What are her shoes doing here? I took in a deep breath, trying to calm down my unsettled heart by self-hyonotizing myself. “Odessa hate Thayer the most, she couldn't be here.” “Thayer loves me the most, he wouldn't betray me..” “My sister should be at home right now, sleeping..” I clutched my pulse tightly, heading to Thayer's bedroom, but my face grew paler when I saw clothes lying roughly at the hallway. The sound of Odessa's soft chuckle pierced my ear, sending shivers down my spine. I developed a cold feet at the doorstep, clenching my fist tightly. “Haha.. Odessa, you're really a bad girl!" The deep voice of Thayer echoed in my ears, followed by the sound of spranking and moaning of Odessa. “Thayer, now that you've marked me, what about Lylia?” Odessa probed, trying to stop Thayer's restless hand. “Lylia? You mean that small fool? If not because she refused to let me sleep with her since, I'd have ditched her a long time ago..” Thayer said hoarsely, his voice burning with intense fire. I gritted my teeth, my eyes blazing with fire as I bursted into the room. My eyes widened at the scene before me, and I dropped to my knees with a thud. Thousand tiny ants tugged my heart, and I felt suffocated. What's going on? Or maybe this was a prank? My gaze wondered around the room, expecting to see camera or crews jump out to shout “Happy birthday Lylia!” But no one came out. No cameras. My clutch purse slipped from my hand, the falling sound piercing the silent room. Thayer and Odessa's eyes widened in surprise. Not expecting that I would suddenly appear at this moment. But Odesaa wasn't that shocked- she was only surprised that I discovered it sooner. “Damn!” Thayer quickly stepped down from my sister, covering his d**k as he rushed to pick a towel from the table to cover his body. “Odessa!” I exclaimed, my voice shaking as I pointed my finger at my sister, who calmly covered her body with the blanket. Odesaa stared blankly. “What?”Odessa asked with a frown, as if I had ruined her fun. Hot tears trickled down my face, as I gaze shifted between the two of them, feeling heartbroken. Most especially, my Alpha, who I had thought was special, that he was my God-sent angel. But it turned out it was all my wishful thinking. That I had been the foolish one all along, thinking I could find a human in this park. Thayer ruffled his golden hair, approaching me with a solemn expression. “Lylia, it's not what you think,” he whispered, crouching down beside me. I slapped his face hard, imprinting my five fingers on his face. “It's not what I think, with what I just heard and saw, huh?” I yelled, my broken voice echoing in the room. I scoffed, “Turned out you are no different from the other beasts…” I stubbornly wiped off my tears. I shouldn't cry for them, they don't deserve my tears. Thayer tried to embrace me again, but I pushed away with all my strength, sending his butt to the cold tiled floor. I propped myself up, awkwardly picking up my clutch purse from the floor. I took a last glance at the pair, and declared, “Don't even think I'm done with you yet!” I stormed out, slamming the door behind me.I kicked their shoes few metres away, scoffing before walking out of the house. Piper turned her head, hearing the sound of door opening. “My lady?" Piper stood up from the placement, approaching me with surprise written all over her face. Seeing Piper's concerned face, the wall I had built around me crumbled. I rushed into her embrace, burying my head in her shoulder, crying profusely. “Wuuuuu…” Piper had never seen me in this state, so she stood still, conflicted on what to do. “My lady? What happened,is Alpha Thayer sick?” Piper asked, but my tears only increased. After several minutes, I finally stopped crying, but my face had swollen unbelievably large, and red. Piper's clothes were covered in my snort and tears, and I was slightly embarrassed. But Piper didn't care, staring at my face, patiently waiting for an explanation. “Sigh…let's leave here first..” I whispered, dragging her hand away. I couldn't stand spending another second in this filthy environment. Seeing how Thayer didn't run after me, Odessa must have stopped him from doing so. Or that he wasn't interested in me to begin with. And all his affection towards me before were just a facade.
