Confusion flooded Aakesh as he stood looking at the man in front of him, someone he had thought dead just moments ago! But instead of responding to him, Darius turned his attention to Connor still standing at the door that had now been closed.
“Leave us.” The sound of the opening and closing of the door echoed through the silence. “Explain.”
Standing uncomfortably in front of the man that had basically raised him, and who had been more of a father for him than his own, Aakesh was left almost without words as Darius stood looking him over. His eyes however, though it held suppressed fury still hinted at a need for kindness.
“What do you want me to explain?”
“Who was that dragon to you? Kendy mentioned an uncle?”
Lifting his hands halfway to running it to his head he realized the absurd
