The Phoenix King

I was born in the desert city of Alia. It was hot but the nights were cool. I loved living there. You could see all six moons in the sky at night. The sky was so clear and I often found myself staring at the stars. As a child, I was well mannered and brought up to be a handmaiden. My life was supposed to be simple and ordinary. My mother thought that with my looks perhaps I could change my status and become a concubine to the king. That was the first time I began to despise the phoenix king. I did not want to be a w***e for the king to throw away when I aged. I was 12 when I found out I had a fire spirit. I was playing with some other children from the village when I suddenly fell to the ground. I wasn't badly hurt but I cried and cried. I suddenly felt my entire body grow hot and I saw flames burst out through my hands. I was scared so I ran to my parents. They told me I had to go to the spirit temple. I was only a child, I did not want to leave my home or my family. I went to the temple the next day. There I met Cloud. He was two years younger than me. He had been brought to the temple after discovering his powers as well. Unlike me, he found out he was a fire spirit after a fight with his father. He burnt down his home, along with his mother, father, and little sister. He never forgave himself for that but with time I helped him overcome his anger and sadness. I know he thinks of me as a little sister even though I can never replace his precious Lena. He has been a good friend to me after all these years especially after my parents died. I was so saddened and confused. That is when I found out I had the other two spirits in me. The high priestesses at the temple were overjoyed and told the king immediately. I was scared and knew that I had to become part of the king's council and army. Cloud told me terrible things about the phoenix king. I did not want to meet him. I wanted to stay at the temple and finish my training then either move away with Cloud or become a high priestess.

The day I met Alexander, I was nervous. I tried not to look impressed but he was very handsome. He has an intense stare. His grey eyes sparkle when they hit the light. He was strong and his long wild hair how it flowed ever so perfectly. He had markings on his arms and chest. He once told me he got one for every life he has lived. I was still careful not to get to close and open up to him. I hardly spoke to him when he first visited. He complimented me every day. He was become restless and told me I would be leaving with him soon. I was not ready to go and I told Cloud I wanted to stay. Cloud decided to challenge Alexander to a duel. I tried to stop Cloud but it was no use. I was afraid Alexander was going to kill him but as the fight began I noticed Alexander didn't use much force and never once used his spirit power. I always appreciated him for that. He turned out to be different than what I had imagined. There was a kind, understanding and caring king under all of that confidence and arrogance. I soon decided to go with him. I may not have had a choice at first but I knew I wanted to go now. It was strange at first, Alexander and I spent most days apart. There were many lingering stares and several glances from afar. I would often visit the trinity spirit church, once in the morning and then again in the evening. Every time I knew I felt his presence. He never once spoke to me or kneeled down to pray but I always knew he was there. Soon, Cloud came to stay at the palace and I spent most of my time with him. I was happy and thankful to Alexander for that. One day, Maze told me to ask Alexander to continue my training so I did. We never really did train much. The first time I pinned him to the ground I felt my entire body flow with energy. I know he felt it too. He got so close to me I thought he was going to kiss me. So after that first training, we did it again every day. Soon, we were spending every moment together. Where he went, I went. He was quite bold, he moved all of my belonging into his chambers without saying a word to me. He told me he wanted to have me close to him, always.

There was a small rebel raid on the planet Zaren, Alexander and I fought endlessly for days. We were close to defeating every dark spirit holder when we were ambushed by crawlers. They went straight for him but I intercepted and it was the first and only time I used all three spirit powers at the same time. Alexander stared at me in awe and we kissed for the first time. Our connection only grew more and more from there. At that point, I did think I was going to be queen just because we were close and intimate with each other but I was delighted the day he asked. He took me to the northern city of Ellio and we watched the moon Axelus turn as blue as Callisto itself. We stayed in a gigantic ice castle and on a very frosty cold night where the snowflakes lifted up off the ground and flew into the sky above; he asked me to be his queen. He gave me a silver ring band with all three spirit symbols on it and his name on the inside with a phoenix flying around it. He had one made for himself but on the inside of his was my name and the trinity spirit symbol. I was so happy and we were so in love. I thought nothing would ever tear us apart.

The day Alexander died was painful but I knew he would be reborn. Maze and Paul told me to remain calm and what would happen next. I took his ring from the ashes and placed it on my finger. I waited and waited. They said it would take a few hours but he didn't come back. The next time I came to check, his ashes were gone and I looked everywhere for him. Everyone thought that if his ashes were moved or destroyed he would not be able to come back. There were days where Paul wanted to declare him dead but I refused to let him think that. I kept the people in the dark until I had no choice but to tell the galaxy Alexander was gone. I never stopped looking for him and I used all of our resources to try and find him.

Finally, after 51 years I found Alexander. I always knew that day would come. War had broken out all throughout the galaxy and I had to leave without anyone knowing. I told only our most trusted allies and left to the planet Earth to bring my king back and stop this war.
