Maya POV
I hastily retreated to the safety of my room. The door slammed shut behind me, and I leaned against it, my chest heaving as I struggled to catch my breath.
But I couldn’t stop my heart from racing like a wild animal, I slid down to the floor, my back against the door, and I buried my face in my hands, unable to process what had just happened.
It still felt unreal to me, I thought he wouldn’t be able to hurt me, at the very least he could only yell at me or even lock me up, but I never expected he’d go to this extent.
I slowly raised my trembling hand to my neck, and the moment my fingertip made contact with my skin, a sharp pain stung through me.
“Damn it!” I cursed in pain, and I closed my eyes momentarily as I released deep breathe.
“f**k you Andre!”
“You deserve every single thing that’s happening to you! You monster!” I cursed angrily, as tears threatened to rush down my eyes, but I did everything I could not to cry because of Andre.
“He’s not worth it! He doesn’t deserve my tears!” I thought in anger.
If thoughts could kill, Ander wouldn’t be able to survive tonight, no matter how strong he is.
Suddenly, Iheard a soft knock on the door, and my heart skipped a beat. I froze, my eyes fixed on the door as if expecting it to burst open at any moment.
Fear gripped me as I wondered if Andre came back and he listened to the things I said about him.
I scurried away from the door, my back against the wall as I tried to make myself as small as possible.
I held my breath, my ears straining to hear any sound, convinced that he had come for me again.
But as the door creaked open, a gentle voice called out, "Is anyone here?" My eyes slowly adjusted to the figure standing in the doorway, and I saw a maid, holding a box that looked like first aid kits.
The maid stepped forward and she said. “I was sent to bring you a first aid box, miss.”
“Mr Andre informed us to deliver it to you,” She added as she held out the box and I quietly took it.
“He also asked you to come downstairs as soon as you’re done,” she said and I nodded, hoping she’d just leave already, because I’m in no mood for a chat.
“Do you need my help?” She asked but I didn’t say a word.
“If you need…”
“Can you just leave already? Are you switching jobs from being a maid to a nurse!” I snapped angrily and she jumped in fright, without saying anything she hurriedly closed the door and she left.
As soon as she left, I felt bad for yelling at her, she was just trying to help, I should focus my anger on Andre instead, he’s the cause of everything.
I slowly opened the first aid kit, I pulled out a wipe and gently began to clean the tender skin on my neck. I winced in pain as it stung badly.
As I applied a bandage to cover the bruising, I couldn't help but wonder why he had sent the first aid kit.
Why would he care about my injuries after hurting me so badly? It didn't make sense.
I felr confused and frustrated, unsure of what to do, but all I could think of was perhaps he felt guilty for hurting me, but at the same time I knew Andre was a man with no conscience, so it was impossible for him to feel anything after hurting me.
The only explanation I could think of was that he needed me, he still wasn’t done with me yet.
As I finished tending to my neck, my eyes wandered to the door, my mind wandered back to the maid’s words.
“Why did he want me downstairs? I thought as I stood up, walking into the bathroom.
As I got to the bathroom, I walked over to the sink, turning on the faucet and the water flowed downwards as I cupped my hands and I splashed the water on my face, washing off the dry tears that was stuck to my face.
After I was done, I gently tapped my face with a dry towel and I took a deep breath as I walked out of the bathroom.
I got back to the room, and as I saw the first aid kit, I hissed heavily. “Don’t think we’re even because you gave me a first aid kit. News flash I’m not that forgiving,” I stated, staring at the first aid kit as if he was Andre.
Walking out the door, I attempted to kick the box, but my leg landed on the door heavily and I screamed in pain.
“What the heck!” I lamented holding my legs as I gave the box an evil eye, I could only poured my anger on the box since I couldn’t do anything to Andre.
I walked out my room, heading downstairs to know why Andre asked for me, I wouldn’t want him to barge in here and hurt me, I’m too pretty to have injuries on my body.
After walking down for some minutes, I saw a farmilair figure standing by the receptionist desk, it was the maid who brought the first aid kit earlier.
The moment she saw me, she tried walking away but I hurriedly walked to her. “Please wait!” I said, as I rushed to meet her.
“Umm…what do you want?” She asked politely as if she wasn’t the one running from me a while back, I guess I deserve that for being a b***h to her.
“I just wanted to say I’m sorry for what I said to you earlier, you didn’t deserve that,” I said, hoping she didn’t feel bad because of what I said.
“It’s fine miss, I’m okay,” she said, smiling widely.
“I’m glad you are,” I smiled back at her.
“Thank you for apologizing to me, others wouldn’t be apologizing to a maid like me,” she replied, a sad expression on her face.
“You’re human, and you won’t be a maid forever,” I responded and she nodded.
“What’s your name?” I asked.
“Brianna,” she replied.
“Nice to meet you Brianna, I’m Maya.”
“The pleasure is mine, Maya,” she relied and I smiled as I walked away, glad she didn’t take offense for what I did.
Now I just have to face, monster Andre and its sick!
