Chapter 10: STAKE OUT

Chioma's POV "What? Where's who?" I wiped the tears off my face. "Don't play dumb." He banged the door. "Do i look like I'm joking? Get out of my room." I tried closing the door. "He was here, wasn't he? Fernando. I know what he smells like, and this place smells like it. Gunpowder. You're not hiding him, are you?" "Can you even hear yourself? You know what your brother smells like? f*****g creep. Didn't even know you had a brother. Now get out." I yelled slightly. "If I find out you're lying, you're dead." He clenched his fists. "Dead my ass. I would have been dead a long time ago if I wanted to. And by the way, where's Sybil? Did you happen to see her?" I folded my arms. "Why? Is there a problem?" "Have you seen her, yes or no?" "None of your concern." He turned to leave. "If I find out you're lying, I'mma slit your throat." I yelled behind him as he walked away. "Motherfucker." I slammed the door shut. ************ "The drugs you asked for have been delivered, sir. Take a look." Drew placed a brown leather bag on the desk. Vinco opened it and inspected as usual. "Hmm. Mr. Gregs' right, if I'm not mistaken," Vinco said. "Yes, sir. He's currently in Vietnam. The police are headed there as well in the next three days concerning Maximilian's case." "s**t. Whatever we're doing, we need to act fast." Vinco said. "Yes, sir." "And also, go to the bar first thing in the morning and fill Stella in as well." "Yes, Mr. Antonov." Drew left. Vinco walked to his closet, pulled his shirt off, and tossed it on the bed. "You can come out now." He opened the closet, took out fresh towels, and hung one over his neck. Sybil quietly slid out from under the bed, stood, and put her clothes back on. "Same time tomorrow?" She walked toward him. "No. And don't go around doing anything stupid. Drugs just came in. We'll be off in the next two days. Prepare ahead." Vinco took his trousers off, tying the towel around his waist. "But–" Sybil started. "Get out." He snapped. "But I want more." She whined, caressing her hands over his body. "I said... get out." He yelled. Sybil stepped back slowly, rolling her hair with her fingers in a sexy way as she walked out. *********** "Fernando Antonov." I read aloud as I saved his details from the card to my phone. A knock on the door. "Who's that now?" Annoyed, I walked over and opened it. "He's not here–Sybil?" Thought it was Vinco again. But it was Sybil. She looked pale and haggard–her clothes were rumpled, her hair a mess. "Gosh, what happened to you?" "Hi." She slowly lost her balance and fell against me. "Sybil… Sybil…Sybil!" I panicked, tapping her back. I dragged her toward the bed and placed her down gently. "What's wrong? Are you okay?" I checked her pulse–normal. But she still looked weak and didn't say anything. I grabbed the bottled water from earlier and poured some into her mouth. She swallowed but stayed silent. I quickly ran to run a warm bath for her. "Alright, c'mon." I pulled her toward the bathroom and lowered her into the tub. Water splashed everywhere. After a few minutes, she slowly opened her eyes and smiled. "Thank you." She wiped water off her face and sat up properly. "It's okay. So tell me... was it that good?" I smirked. "What? What was good? What are you talking about?" "Bitch... don't play with me." "I'm not. I was literally knocked out five minutes ago. Can't remember shit." "And the cause of that was..." I stared at her. "Oh. Right. Now I know what you're talking about. Got knocked out by your boss. Or should I say your boyfriend?" She made a weird face. "Girl, that's a very disgusting thing to say." "He's huge, though." Sybil said. "Shut up." She started laughing. "Anyway... there's something I need to show you." I walked out of the bathroom and grabbed the card from earlier. "What's that?" Sybil yelled from inside. I walked back in, showing her the card. "This. Take a look. Any idea who that is?" Sybil stared at it. Then at me. Then at it again. "What?" I asked curiously, because she was staring at me oddly. "Where'd you get this?" Genuine curiosity in her voice. "It was given to me. Why?" "Wait... you mean Fernando was here and he gave you this?" "Yeah. Why? What are you getting all worked up for?" "It's Vinco's brother." She whispered. "Yeah, I know. Just found out." I shrugged. "They aren't on good terms. You shouldn't be associating yourself with him." Sybil warned. "Do I look like I give a f**k? Hell no. You know where he stays, right?" "Yeah... not really. But I know his office. Why?" "Great. I'll be going there, and you'll be taking me." I swiped the card from her hand. "What? No. Absolutely not." Sybil disagreed. "Why not? I just saved you, so you owe me. And it's just a stakeout. We won't be going in. Just wanna know what he's up to." "But... Nando is a terrible person. Way worse than Vinco." "I... kinda noticed. But what's the worst that could happen? We'll just be spying. Now get your ass out of the tub. We've got work to do." I smiled. Suddenly, a bubbling sound came from the tub. Bubbles started to form. "Did you fart?" "Yeah." Sybil laughed. "Gawd." I walked out of the bathroom. ******** We walked out of the mansion dressed in all black. I was in front, chest out, shoulders up, like I knew exactly where we were going. Sybil was behind me, walking slower. "Hey, could you slow down a bit?" She had both hands on her waist. I turned around–she was farther back than i realized. "What are you doing? We don't have time. C'mon." i waved her over. She caught up. "Is this because of Vinco?" She looked exhausted. "No. Why?" "So he won't notice we're gone? That's why you're in a rush?" "Look, I'm not scared of him. And neither should you. Now let's go." I pulled her along. "But I just had the best s*x. My legs are exhausted." She whined as I dragged her. We got through the gate and took a cab. Long drive–but not long enough for the distance. The cab stopped in front of a motel. We stepped out. "Express Motel... is this it?" I stared at it. "Yeah. It's a disguise. There's more to it. You've seen it, so... now let's go back." She turned to leave. "What? Where do you think you're going? What's wrong with you?" "But you said we weren't going in. What now?" She fidgeted. "Yeah, I lied. Now c'mon." I pulled her in. We entered through a back door as Sybil directed. Hid behind a huge stack of cartons. The whole place reeked of strong drugs–like a factory where they made them. Sybil sat on one of the boxes, exhausted. I squinted through a little opening in the stack. "Look–he's here." I tapped Sybil quietly. "Yeah. It's his place. What'd you expect? And be quiet." She rubbed her forehead. "I'm quiet enough." I whispered. Fernando was speaking to someone harshly in Spanish. A few minutes later, some men brought in a pale-looking woman and laid her on a long, laboratory-looking table. A man in surgical gloves spread her legs wide and began inserting things inside. "Okay, what the f**k is happening?" I whispered in disgust. Sybil stood up and took a peek. "Oh, this. She's being trafficked, just like me. Normal to them, strange to you." She whispered. "What?" I whispered back. "But they're inserting things inside her." Worry crept into my voice. "It's okay. That's the usual. Why do you think I was getting f****d by Vinco earlier? It's to make it easier to carry the drugs." Sybil whispered. "What?! So you mean Vinco had s*x with you just to make your p***y wider so he could insert drugs in there? What!" I whispered as low as I could, but loud enough to express my shock. "Exactly. Now you know." Sybil said. "What the f**k!" As I began to crash out, my hand hit a box. It fell. "Who's there?" A heavy voice yelled from across the room.
