"This feels unfair." Kaida sighed, her eyes focused on the roof of hers and Uther's tent. The roof wasn't that high and yet it was barely lit by the slowly burning embers down below, leaving a sea of shadows that grabbed her attention from time to time.
A week had passed since they left Govalon, making it the longest time she had ever spent her nights outside her home.
"Home…" It felt strange that that thought had nothing to do with her parents' home back in Taedel, but everything to do with Telarion. She hadn't even realized how much she missed the palace already. Even with its snakes that were always lying in wait to strike at her, she still missed it. Especially the intimate garden that allowed her a moment's escape to enjoy life surrounded by nature.
