Epilogue
New Year’s Eve
“Three, two, one…” Another countdown, to another year. It was 2016 in Brazil, as Rocco and Ridley cruised virtually around the world online to celebrate. Christmas Day was wonderful—as wonderful as it could be with Ridley in the hospital. He was up in a chair for a short while, and Christmas dinner—turkey and all the sides from the cafeteria—wasn’t half bad. Seeing Ridley laugh, hearing all the Cumberland family memories and seeing them lavish love upon him, that made the day very special. New Year’s Eve, that was just the two of them, Rocco and Ridley, in Ridley’s apartment.
“How you feeling?”
“Restless. Bored. Smelly.”
