Cam’s brow arches in confusion just as I grab her shoulder and shove it hard. Her eyes open wide as her scream pierces the room and her small body begins to twist under my hand. Cam growls behind me as Brent storms into the room on all fours, glaring at me. I put my hands up, palms out, to show I mean no harm. “I didn’t want to hurt her, but she needed to wake up.” Cam grumbled but settled while Brent retracted back down the stairs.
