Kate“Hey,” Kate said when she opened the door to Evan that weekend. “Come on in.”
“How’s the little guy?” Evan asked as he stepped into the house.
“Quicker than I am, I can tell you that much.”
“Ha! Been keeping you on your toes, has he?”
“Wouldn’t you know it?” Kate laughed. “Do you want a drink? I just need to get his bag and check his diaper before you guys go.”
“Sure. Just a glass of water would be good.”
Kate motioned to the kitchen, and Evan followed her.
“You sure you’re okay with this?” Evan ran his fingers through his hair.
