Chase
“Stay here with me… tonight.” It is a plea that come directly from my heart. I want her here with me, in the open, in my arms.
In a few hours, I’ll be losing whatever little freedom I have. For the last time, I want that freedom I feel when I’m around her, the peace she brings… I will be bonded with the one chosen for me for a purpose and not with the one fated to me.
I am not allowed to show my weaknesses, so I was told. I am raised to believe I do not have a heart. I am tough, I rarely break, but I’m breaking tonight and I want my pieces gathered in her embrace.
I lift my hand, bringing it to her face. She releases a sharp gasps as our skin make contact, I feel a warm flush spread through my body.
