There I was, moving as fast as the wind, dashing through trees with my father and mother beside me. The feeling of the wind on my fur felt so elating.
The full moon rising in the sky seemed to enhance our strength with every inch it rose, as we felt ourselves moving even faster.
Swinging my head from side to side, I looked at both of my parents in glee as they both shared and reciprocated the same action. Looking a bit longer at my dad, I saw a sparkle in his eyes.
A sparkle that represented the pride he had for me. With that engrossed in his heart and soul, he looked assured that he could leave the care of Crestopia in my paws.
Switching my gaze over to my mother, I saw the motherly love she had in her own eyes. As graceful and eloquent as she moved through the trees, you could also see the strength that she exhibited with every movement she made. Never have I ever felt so fulfilled or satisfied.
My life was perfect. I am Luna. I was the crowned princess of Crestopia, running through the enchanted forest in my wood form with King Lobo and Queen Esmeralda, the rulers of Crestopia. To enhance my even prefect life, I was next in line to become the next Alpha ruler of our kingdom.
Ruling Crestopia with law and order, my father ensured the magical creatures that resided in his kingdom felt at home and safe.
He meets the needs of every sprite, troll, gnome, or even a fellow werewolf almost every hour of the day. He was so busy and engrossed in the needs of others that I hardly got to see him.
That was, until he brought me along to every meeting he had, always reminding me I needed to be accustomed to the problems of our people if I wanted to make an excellent queen.
Even with the hassle of his work, he made sure his attention during the evenings was focused on his family. We always had evening tea before supper, a discussion on the affairs of our day. My mother, Queen Esmeralda, always had the most to say during this time.
She would always go on and on about how lovely the time she spent at the orphanage was or how she kept herself entertained by forming new notes on the piano. Looking at her as she keeps us entertained with her "small talk", as she likes to call it, made me lose myself in her beauty.
She had beautiful, long brunette hair that curled at the end to absolute perfection. Her face always screamed compassion and love as she looked at you with her blue, piercing eyes. My father often joked about how she could soften the strongest of hearts with her gaze.
She was indeed a beautiful woman. Getting to the top of Mount Lato, one of the highest mountains in all of Crestopia, we stopped to bask in the moonlight, drawing its energy and enriching us.
Soaking in the lunar energy, I soon get interrupted by my dad's voice as he begins to show me the lands of Crestopia, a family tradition we do every full moon. He showed me the hills, the meadows, the enchanted forest that we ran through, the town square, and the castle.
He did this to remind me that I would soon rule over everything I had seen. He told me to respect every living thing, from the tiniest plant on the grounds to the trolls in the town. It was to ensure the great circle of life was sustained and in balance.
Pondering the huge responsibility ahead of me, I began to get nervous. What if I couldn't handle all the pressure? Noticing the change in my behavior, he pulled me towards his dark fur in a warm embrace. He told me not to worry, knowing I was destined to be a great queen.
I felt so satisfied. Indeed,I had the perfect life. With such loving parents and an enormously fulfilled destiny at hand, I had no clue it could ever come to an end.
I currently live and dread that one day everything will be taken away from me. My parents, my life, and my birthright Snatched from very helpless hands. The clouds turned gray, an indication of an unknown danger nearby.
A huge wind howled through the land of Crestopia. It scattered the crops and vegetables all around the farm and also threw the farm animals into a fit of disarray.
Danger was coming to Crestopia, and the land could feel it. With the doors of the castle opened ajar by the powerful wind, a dark presence filled the castle.
It came in the form of a large man. He had an unhealthy length of hair and dark eyes that showed the wrong intent. Escorted by the guards, he moved to the courtroom as he demanded the presence of the rulers of the kingdom.Sensing the evil intent he saw in this stranger's eyes, he ordered the guards to be with me at all times.
He then instructed me that if anything were to go wrong, I should make sure I put my safety first. He went on to tell me how proud he was of the strong werewolf I was growing up to become. My mother took me into her arms as she muttered her words of motherly affection towards me.
She went further and told me she loved me and gave me her Crescent necklace, telling me they would continue to be with me wherever I went.I had never been so confused and baffled as I was. What was happening? Why this sudden burst of affection? Of course, they were going to be with me.
Nothing's going to ever separate us. So I thought. Locking me in my room, the guards were instructed to keep watch over the room. I was so anxious about what was happening. I needed to find out immediately.I headed for my secret tunnel, which was behind my wardrobe.
I discovered it years ago when I lost a hair clip that fell behind the wardrobe. It led to another opening, which stood behind a painting in the hall.
That was my secret way of getting in and out of my room. Dashing for it, I soon busted out of the side, making it to the halls of the castle. I immediately heard a commotion and hassle coming from the courtroom, and I was for it. With tears in my eyes, I didn't want to confirm my suspicions.
The gray environment, the tightening of security, and sudden words of affirmation from my parents could only mean one thing, and I was not ready to accept it. Soon, I came across a trail of guards unconscious on the floor as I got closer to the courtroom.
I opened the door to find the most intense shock of my life. There, my dad was hung across the wall by this evil man. I looked around to see my mother's almost lifeless body across the room. I was in shock.
Sensing my presence, the evil entity turned and stared me down with his cold, pitch-black eyes.
I felt glued to the ground, unable to move, as if an invisible force were holding me down. He immediately lunged at me, leaving my father to fall to his death.
I would have been next in line if it weren't for the intervention of my mother, who used all her strength to blast him, sending him flying across the room and giving him a scar across an eye. With a puff of breath, she screamed at me to run.
I began to head for the door as it sprung me back to life. I kept running as I made it out of the castle and into the enchanted woods. Almost out of breath, I looked back and took a look at the castle. Tears formed in my eyes as the picture of both my parents in distress continued to flash in my mind.
My life had turned into shambles within a day, and I had no one else to turn to. Moving towards a big oak tree, I sat there and reminisced on what life had to offer from now on.
