I let out a long breathe, staring out into the world now being one of those times. Letting the faint sound of the rustling leaves below fill my mind instead.
The moon was shining extra bright it seemed tonight was shining extra bright it seemed tonight. It was lovely.
The night breeze felt nice on my skin.
Alpha hasn’t come back since yesterday, when he left me to rest. He mentioned he had some few works to do. But I think he just wanted to give me some time to cool off after what happened yesterday.
Honestly, I have been alive here longer than I had initially thought that I would , but that luck wouldn’t last forever. Was it even luck? If it wasn’t then what else would it be?
“Angel?” Alpha’s voice sounded from the room, startling me since I didn’t hear him come in from the balcony I was standing right now.
I quickly ran back to the room and saw him shutting the door behind him, one of those large recyclable shopping bags in one of his hands.
Alpha began looking into the bag as the room fell into silence.
“The maid finally got what I had asked him to get. I guess store the store in town didn’t have everything I was looking for,so he had to order it from someone else.”
I came and sat on the couch opposite his, so I was facing him.
“What is it?” I asked.
He glanced up at me before handing me the bag.
“Come to find out. It’s yours.”
My eyes went wide for a long moment, flickering from the bag to Alpha.
Why would he get me something? More importantly, what would he get me?
I cautiously lifted the bag so it was facing me. My mouth fell open as soon as I spotted the thing inside.
I carefully pulled out the large sketchbook, admiring the black leather covers and the silver binding.
Holy crap.. the ones I had at hone was barely even as big as my hand, but this...
I couldn’t even think of how to describe it.
My finger ran across the soft paper before something else in the bag caught my attention.
There was more.
I peered Into the bag again to find a whole variety of brand new drawing supplies.
Different kinds of pens,pencils, acrylic, colored pencils, and even watercolor paint and brushes.
None of these stuff looked cheap either.
I was at a loss of words. I was at a loss for everything.
He got all of these stuff for me?
Alpha leaned forward and removed his feet from the coffee table, causing me to force myself back into reality.
I looked towards him, mouth still agape .
“H-how much was all of these?”
Alpha shrugged, “does it matter?” He asked plainly.
I turned my head back to the sketchbook, absentmindedly tracing its front cover.
“Why?” I questioned.
He rose a brow like the answer was plainly obvious.
“ you have a talent, Angel, you should embrace it. And like I said, I would do anything to make you happy. Plus it will give you something else to do rather than stare out the balcony all day.” He finished.
Still, even though I do not want to be here, I think I actually felt happy.
It was a foreign feeling after all these months, so I did not recognize it right away.
I could actually execute all these ideas that I have had over the years with amazing supplies too!
Not to mention that beautiful sketchbook that I get to keep it all to myself.
“Angel, there’s going to be a ball, later tonight. I want you to come with me so that I can properly introduce you as my mate.”
I just sat there, staring at him not knowing exactly what to say to him.
“ I-I don’t think I want.”
“Get ready it’s almost time, mate.” He said and exited the room without letting me talk.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Everyone stared at us with wide eyes, gaping at us. Whispers rang out as I stood there uncomfortably.
“How is this possible?”
“He is not suppose to have a mate.” And then there was the one that had my heart racing in fear.
“That poor girl, he is going to destroy her.”
“Enough.” Alpha’s voice rang out, making my slight shivers turn into full tremors and I tried to wiggle out of his grasp but his hold only tightened.
He stared out at thousands of people almost challengingly. As if daring even one of them to speak against his claim. They all stood there quietly, eyes downcast at the power behind his command.
I was human, no connection to their twisted hierarchy and yet wanted to fall to my knees.
“ this ball is held so that I can properly show off who my mate is. I ask you all to enjoy the party.” He said, his deep velvety voice keeping everyone transfixed.
“Come Angel, I am sure you would like to enjoy the party as well.” Alpha Said, looking down so he cluster my face stepping even closer than he was before.
“I- Uhmm yes, yes I would.” I said slightly flustered by his close proximity, trying to discretely take a step away from his causing frown line to appear between his brows.
“Lead the way Angel.” He said simply, ignoring the fact that I had stepped away despite the fact that something changed in his eyes, his warm beautiful blue eyes seemed to lighten a bit.
My heart sunk as I noticed the way people seemed to move away from us very differently from the way I had had to force my way through the crowds before. I was already an outsider.
I guess this is my life now.
I remembered the first day I stepped foot into the castle unknown to me that it was gyro be my new home. If I had known, I would have done anything to slow this day from coming.
