Sitting in the car on our way back to my house. Reiley, why on earth did you get so upset that the owner paid for our drinks and covered our bill? Because he was with the Masino’s at my parents tonight for dinner. He then showed up at my house right before you got there. He told me we needed to continue the conversation from dinner. I got mad because he was standing at my door. I asked how he knew where I lived. He smirked at me and said his PI and he knew everything he needed to know about me. I called him a Stocker, and told him that he was wrong because we didn’t need to continue the conversation for dinner.
Why did you leave that part out of explaining everything earlier, said Eva. I didn’t say anything because I was mad and embarrassed. I answered the door in my booty shorts and tank top. I thought it was one of you at the door, so I didn’t care how I looked opening the door. Both girls start laughing. What is so funny about this? I’m so looking at him to see who you opened the door half naked to said Eva. Great idea Ava chimed in. No, you two spot it. See, this is why I didn’t tell you two in the first place.
We walked up to my door with Ava doing her nosey job to find out who Mr. Night is. Dam Reiley, this man is sexy as f**k. Ava, I noticed at dinner. You don’t have to continue telling me. Eva laughed so hard, grabbing her side, leaning against my door, trying to catch her breath. What is so funny Eva that causes Ava to join in laughing me. All I can do is laugh too, because I am so overacting over everything. Let’s get into the house and continue this talk tomorrow.
The girls make their way to my guest room. I made my way to my room. I walk into my bathroom, turn on the shower and start to strip my clothes off. I step in my shower and let the water run down my body. I’m still tipsy from our night of drinking. The water feels so good on my skin. I took my shower and got out of the steamy bathroom. I grabbed my towel and made my way to bed. I don’t care about getting pajamas. I crash in bed ready to fall sleep.
I wake up to the sunlight blasting through my window. I sat up and rubbed my eyes. Get out of bed and head to my closet to put on sweatpants and my tank top. Put my fuzzy socks on and walked downstairs. I didn’t notice anyone on my way to the kitchen for coffee. I add water to my Keurig and pop a pod in. I went to reach for a cup. Ava Yells from the living room good afternoon sunshine. Without turning around, I stuck my hand up, flipping her off. This girl is always chipper no matter what time of day.
I got my coffee and walked to sit next to Ava on the couch. What time did you get up Ava? I got up around 7am why. It's Saturday. Why can’t you sleep in? I tried to sleep in, but you know me when my eyes are open am up. Plus, it’s almost noon anyway. Eva left around 9am. So, I have been watching Netflix waiting for you to get up. Ava, you could have woken me up. Well, I thought the same thing till I opened your door to a full moon. So, not funny Ava. I didn’t feel like putting on clothes. Umm, I noticed said Ava.
Do you want to go get lunch? Omg yes, because I ate your last bagel with cream cheese for breakfast. Well, since you are dressed already Ava. I’m going to get dressed while you pick where we are having lunch. Yay, Ava! Yells as I make my way to my room to put on clothes for the day. It is almost springtime. So, grab jeans and a light sweater with hey dude. I go to my vanity, put on light makeup and throw my hair in a cute messy bun. Grabbing my purse and phone off the charger by my bed. Time to leave for food.
We locked up my house and grabbed a cab. Ava picks a Chinese place by her apartment. I grabbed my phone to text Eva to say thank you for last night. Who messaged me from an unknown number? Opening the text, I read
UN: Hope you and the girls liked the club.
UN: You didn’t say thank you.
UN: You just left.
UN: Feisty!!!!
UN: Hope you made it home.
Ava look, look at this unknown number texting me. Well, whoever he hired as a PI is good. It is hard to get your private number. I know because I helped you set it up that way. Let me look into whom the PI might be getting the information for him. Sounds good Ava, this PI must be as good as you are. Probably have the same hacker skills as you for finding out information. Yeah, I doubt that, Reiley, this is simple information that is easy to find with the right connections. Thanks, Ava, for clearing that up. I’m going to do my own research into Mr. Night to find out why it has taken an interest in you. That would be amazing Ava. You are the best.
Walking into the restaurant, the lady asks how many. Two please, she leads us to our table. What can I get you to drink? "Can I have a coke? "I would like a diet coke please, Ava said. Do you need time to look over the menu? Yes, we do, thank you. The waitress walks away to get our drinks. So, Reiley, are you going to text back to the unknown person? You know what Ava, that is a great idea. I’m going to do that now.
Reiley: Who is this?
UN: Guess
Reiley: A stocker
UN: Try again
Reiley: Wait, I know, you must have been the stripper from the other night. The hot one I gave my number too.
UN: Not a stripper. When did you go to a strip club?
Reiley: Well mystery man, that is none of your business.
Reiley: If you are not a hot stripper. Who are you?
UN: Your new best friend
Reiley: I doubt that because I have a friend's number saved on my phone.
UN: Save it now. New best Friend
Reiley: NOPE. Deleting and blocking
Here reads this Ava. You know how to get under people's skins girl. Keep messing with him, show how rude of him for not asking for your number. So, you remember the date I asked for your help with a few days ago. Yes, I do. I grab my phone and toss it in my purse. Well, I have good news: You don’t have to be a blind date for the twin. You just made my day, Ava! Haha brat, Eva is going to go with me because I know you will cancel one way or another. I really like this guy and don’t want you ditching me to mess up anything with him. Wow Ava, is that what you think of me? I’m the bad friend that will mess things up for you. She laughs at me; you know what I’m saying. You don’t like being blind to any situation, especially blind dates. So, I asked Eva instead.
Ava, I get it, and thank you for asking Eva. Because I totally would have made a work trip to ditch you. We ordered our food for a wonderful lunch. What are you going to do for the rest of the day, Reiley? I’m going to take a cab to my parent’s house to apologize for how I acted at dinner. Then head home to chill in my pajamas. I grab the bill off the table. Ava hugs me bye while I pay for lunch. I hailed a cab to my mom and dad’s house.
I walk into the house; mom is sitting in the living room. Sitting down next to her, I gave her a big hug. Sorry mom for being a brat at dinner Friday night. She hugs me tightly, it's OK sweet girl. I knew you would get upset. That is why your dad and I thought having dinner here would lessen the blow some. Mom, I shouldn’t have gotten nervous or mad. The family has the right to know who their possible grandchild is. I just get angry and emotional when the topic of my birth mother comes up. I will start handling it better. With a kiss on my temple, she reaches over and hands me a file. What is this mom? Reiley is everything the PI found when doing his investigation of Mrs. Masino lost grandchild.
I will take this home and look through it, mom. I have a question: who is Mr. Night and how he was involved. I don’t understand why he was at dinner if the Masino were the ones looking for the grandchild. He is a friend of the family that they wanted to include in everything. OK, I see, it was the son of the father who was looking for the child. No Mr. Masino is the brother to the man looking for his child. If you stayed for the rest of dinner. They would have explained everything. Mrs. Masino left that file for you to read through. She felt it would be easier for her. Well, that was kind of her, Mom.
