Untitled Episode 3

I shake my head at the memory of falling in love with the wrong man. Now I’m standing in a cold shower. I turned off the water. Step out of the shower and grab the towel to dry off. Thinking this is why I never talk about the reason for not dating. I don’t like to remember I wasn’t good enough to love back. So yes, I’m scared to put myself out there again to be not good enough. It’s been five years since I walked away from the hurt of loving someone who didn’t love me back. Walking to my bed to get into my PJs and crawling under the blanket in hopes of getting some sleep. I set my alarms for the morning. I move around to get comfortable in my bed. I close my eyes hopefully to sleep without thinking of the past. Alarms won’t stop blasting next to me. Guess it's time to get up and start my day. Time for another shower without memories. I sit up in bed and turn off the alarms. Kicking off the blankets, I walk to my closet and get my underwear and suit for work. I walk to my bed, so I can lay out my work clothes for the day. I grabbed my phone and messaged my driver, Oscar, to pick me up in two hours. Set my phone down and head to the shower. I step out of the shower and start getting ready for my day. I walked down the stairs to the kitchen to make coffee and breakfast. My phone starts to ring on the counter next to my coffee cup. I looked over to see my mom’s name. Hi mom, how is your morning going? Reiley, my morning is going well. I’m calling to remind you to not forget dinner tonight. Mom, I have a reminder set on my phone, so I won’t forget. She laughed hard and said even with a reminder, you still somehow forget to show up. I must call you to see where you are at. Then you end showing up late. I promise mom I will make sure you don’t have to call me this time. I will make it on time. Reiley, you had better stick to that promise. I’m so tired of you forgetting things that are not work-related. When are you going to find a balance of work and personal life? Listen mom I know. When I find a personal life, I will not work as much. I must go now. Love you mom. See you at dinner tonight. Love you too, Reiley, remember 6:30 tonight for dinner. Bye see you at 6. I hung up with mom and grabbed my coffee and tossed my forgotten breakfast. I grab my work stuff and key. Lock up the house and make my way to the car waiting for me. I get seated ready to head to work. Oscar, I will be leaving work early today so I will make it to my mother’s house for dinner on time. OK miss Reiley, what time are you leaving the office today? I will let you know after I get to the office. I have two meetings today to redesign for companies, a boardroom meeting to go over the projects already in design. He laughs, so you will be leaving work for your mother's for dinner. Yes, Oscar, I guess I will. I will be ready to leave at 5:45 gives me enough time to stop for wine. Dinner starts at 6:30. We should be there by that time if I leave at 5:45. Lucky, my parents live in the city now. Growing up, my parents had a house outside the city in Scarsdale, New York. After I graduated from college with my Master’s in business and bachelor’s in design. My parents sold the house outside the city for the Townhouse in the city. So, with them living in the city now. It is closer to where I work. It will not take long to get there from my office building. Miss Reiley, we have arrived at your job. Thank you, Oscar. I walked into the office building and got on the elevator for the 40th floor. As I exit the elevator and make my way to my office. Mandy, my receptionist, let me know that one of the meetings I had today was canceled. That they called to reschedule for more time on the redesign they wanted to go with. Thanks, Mandy. Will you get Oliver to come to my office? So we moved up the boardroom meeting for today since we have an open morning with the cancelation. Mandy walks to her desk to call Oliver to my office. I got my phone out and called Oscar, my driver, to let him know I would be done early today due to a canceled meeting. Hello, Miss Reiley, how may I help you? Oscar, I will be leaving work today at 2pm after my last meeting ends. I will have you drive me home and then to my parents's house for dinner. Sounds good. See you then, Miss Reiley. I hung my phone up as Oliver was walking into my office. Oliver sends out an email saying that the boardroom meeting is in an hour from now. He looks at me and says, anything else you need before the meeting. No, that is all I need from you. After the boardroom meeting you will need to go over everything with the project teams to close out jobs. I’m leaving the office early today after my redesign meeting. So, if there is anything you need. Just call me and I will head back to help if I’m needed.
