I stood staring at my open apartment door. Apparently, in the rush to ‘kidnap’ me, no one bothered closing the door afterwards. And I was his biggest worry? Seriously? Not the incompetent fools working for him? Kicking the door shut with my foot I looked around my flat, the sky already lightening as the sun began to rise and filled the place with light. My eyes darted down the hall where the bedrooms were. I didn’t know where to go. I could go to bed but . . . they were watching me. The whole ride home I could feel their eyes I just couldn’t see them. Every car around me was a threat, every glance my way was a trigger hair away from leaving me an anxious mess behind the wheel. Life as I knew it was completely gone. Even standing here in my own apartment felt wrong. There was no safe zone
