Momdays

500 Words
Chapter 3 Friday rolled around and days were getting colder. I arrive to school 20 minutes after the bell. I got a call early in the morning saying that daycare was closed today, which didn't give me enough time to hire someone to watch Rosie. I unbuckled Rosie's car seat and grabbed my bag along with hers and made my way into the school building. I walked into the office and asked the principle if I was allowed to have my daughter attend my classes with me. "Please Principle.Douglas allow me to take her along with me please." Principle Douglas looked at my daughter with such confusion. No one in school besides my counselor and Tyler know that I have a child. Let alone I'm a single parent and that I have been on my own since my parents passing. "Lina who is she?" Principle Douglas asked. There was absolutely no point in trying to make up a story so I told him the truth. I took a deep breath "this is my daughter Rosie" he looked at me with complete shock. "I didn't know you had a child, since when? And why can't your parents take care of her?" "Well Rosie is 3 and is really well behaved she wouldn't be a problem but my parents are no longer here considering the fact that they passed away before she was born. But please sir, it's just for today, her daycare was canceled today and I didn't have anytime to hire someone to watch her, please just this once." Principle Douglas seemed a little skeptical but finally agreed. I walked out of his office with Rosie's bag and my book bag. I made my way to the attendance window and grabbed my pass, Tyler was walking down the hallway when he called out Rosie's name. Rosie ran towards him and leaped into his arms. "Mommy look it's uncle Tyler!" I laughed and looked at Tyler , he had the "what's going on" expression, I whispered into his ear letting him know I'll tell him later. I asked Tyler if he can take Rosie to all his classes only because nobody in the school knows that I'm a mother except him, my counselor, and now Principle Douglas. He agreed and told me that he will just tell all his teachers that she's his niece. After every class all I would hear is "omg did you see Tyler's Niece?! She's so adorable!" Or I would hear "why would Tyler bring a kid to school?" It was already lunch time and Rosie was getting hungry and cranky. So I gathered my homework for my last two classes and checked myself out. I told Tyler to meet me at the student parking lot just so no one gets suspicious or finds out that she's my daughter. Once I met up with Tyler and Rosie I got Rosie settled and drove off. Sometimes I ask myself. What would I do if it weren't for Tyler?
