(61) Cheaters Won

Shi Zhao had looked around the core zone but there is no Shadow Asura. His expression was grim since he cant find any traces of it. There is a chance Zi Yingjun tricked him. Hu kept sniffing on the ground but he cant sense any dark energy nearby. He turned to his master to complain. Shi Zhao sighed in helplessness. With a wave of his hand, Hu merged with him. His dark eyes turned icy blue like a tiger's. A strong pair of white wings formed behind his back and his senses grew sensitive. Shi Zhao flew to another direction and search for his target.
Zi Yingjun could care less about his newfound enemy. He took watched outside the room as Jin Xuan Meng approached Hei Si Yin.
"Sovereign Hei." Zi Yingjun called in his mind. "You can appear now. Head to the core zone and follow Shi Zhao. Just make sure you won't show your face to anyone here, including me and Jin Xuan Meng. Act as if you don't know me if Shi Zhao were to discover your existence."
"Naturally." Sovereign Hei whispered. His body turned into a black smoke that quickly travelled back to the core zone.
"Just drink it. It's not a poison. Think, if we kill you right here, Shi Zhao will know our motive immediately." Jin Xuan Meng pinched Hei Si Yin's cheek to make her open her mouth. She inserted the green pill into Hei Si Yin's mouth and poured water. Hei Si Yin have no choice but to drink.
"I'll kill both of you!" Hei Si Yin angrily shouted after choking.
"You can just kill Jin Xuan Meng." Zi Yingjun nonchalantly recommended. He leaned off the doorway and waved his hand. "Jin Xuan Meng was the one who made you swallow it, not me. If you want revenge, Jin Xuan Meng is surely fine with that."
"Hey! I value my life, okay?!" Jin Xuan Meng stood up to leave too. Hei Si Yin suddenly lunged on her and spoke but no voice came out. She pushed Hei Si Yin off her as Jin Xuan Meng furrowed her brows.
"W-what happened...? My voice..." Hei Si Yin muttered. She thought she lost her voice back there.
"We did say it won't kill you, right?" Zi Yingjun casted a smug look. His grin within the shadows and his gleaming purple eyes almost scared Hei Si Yin to run away. "It can't kill but it can remove your voice if you ever mention what Jin Xuan Meng and I did to you."
"I can write it and show it to Shi Zhao!" Hei Si Yin stubbornly took out a pen and paper. She tried to write but her hands trembled. "I, I can't write?"
"Obviously. The spirit beasts I used are for restraining you. One of them is the Paralysis Snake and the Soundless Nightingale. You can't speak or write anything that caused you to hate us. In that way, you cant expose anything." Zi Yingjun explained casually. Hei Si Yin was in disbelief, even Jin Xuan Meng. They both thought she will die. Zi Yingjun looked away and left.
"Huh. All he did was burn it with fire." Jin Xuan Meng pinched her chin. She smirked at Hei Si Yin who keeps glaring at her. "Well, that solves it. Good luck killing us."

A familiar loud howl echoed in Spirit Beast Valley. Zi Yingjun halted in his steps. He stared ahead the forest. On the other side, Shi Zhao's arm was bleeding. His qi is almost depleted but the shadow in front of him is still lively.
"No wonder." Shi Zhao gritted his teeth. He decided to retreat and turned his back on the Shadow Asura. "No wonder my seniors weren't able to return! This Shadow Asura have recovered, I should hurry and leave!"
"Hehe. Where is the boy going?" Sovereign Hei spoke eerily and followed Shi Zhao. His locks of hair charged towards Shi Zhao like a whip with eyes.
"Damn it!" he cursed for the bad luck. Shi Zhao was hit and fell off. Sovereign Hei calmly walked to his direction as if a treacherous snake that will devour its prey.
"Enough game." Zi Yingjun's voice was transmitted to Sovereign Hei's thoughts. "Don't kill him yet. His origin is still unclear. Let me do it myself if he gets on my nerves."
"If you say so." his black figure vanished as Shi Zhao slumped in relief. He thought he will die this early. He's still fifteen and he wil surely regret it not living his whole life.
Zi Yingjun smiled playfully. He was observing them through the yang energy Sui Shen left. Shi Zhao looked truly glad being spared. Zi Yingjun does want Shi Zhao to die but his death will cause an even capable person to get dragged into his case then Zi Yingjun can no longer escape. It is fine too that Shi Zhao was the investigator Jin Xuan Pei hired. He is still young and Zi Yingjun can surely outsmart him if he is careful.
No one died aside from Hei Clan's geniuses being injured. Zi Clan won because of the merits Zi Yingjun showcased. Hei Si Yin can only stand on the side while Zi Clan rejoiced. She wanted to complain but every time she attempted to say anything, she cant find her voice or her body can only tremble. Hei Wen Zhu had asked her many times where their merits went but she cant answer it. Now everyone blamed her while those cheaters won!
"Zi Yan Yue, good job! We knew you could do it!" their peers greeted them outside Spirit Beast Valley along with the teachers. They thought Zi Yan Yue was the one who earned that much of merit points and Zi Yingjun was just a prop. After all, Zi Yan Yue is in the fifth rank while they believed Zi Yingjun is still in the third rank.
"Ehm... But Yingjun also-" before Zi Yan Yue can finish, Zi Yingjun who stood next to her shook his head as a gesture. She knitted her brows why he doesn't want any credit. Zi Yingjun simply tapped on the back of her hand before leaving. Zi Yan Yue watched him dazedly meet up with Jin Xuan Meng.
