Sovereign Hei stood behind Zi Yingjun's seat while he acted obedient as if listening to what the teacher was saying. He glanced back to see Shi Zhao answering what the teacher asked. "Boy." Sovereign Hei turned back to Zi Yingjun. "You deliberately chose to lose. Why? You could have used that chance to injure him heavily. Shi Zhao will surely be a hindrance for your plans."
Zi Yingjun gave a sideway glance but chose to smile lightly. He only did that to avoid suspicion. If he let himself win, then Shi Zhao will surely think he did something to even surpass him. Zi Yingjun is careful this time. Once he inherits all the wealth his mother left then he can go venture outside Da Long Mountain and find his father in Ye Empire. Shi Zhao can die on his own here.
As of now, not only did he prove he is 'inferior' to Shi Zhao, both of them were friends on the surface but deep down, they badly wanted to slit each others' throat. She moved out of the spring and hid behind the glowing blue flowers. Hai Liang shrunk to the corner and poked her head out. Soon enough, she saw Zi Yingjun with another person in white robes.
"Hmm... It is a good hideout." the person in white said and looked around. Hai Liang was astounded to see a female face. She thought it was a young master!
"Hideout? No, you misunderstood." Zi Yingjun gave a look of unsatisfactory towards Jin Xuan Meng. He pointed at the floating white dots over the spring. "Those flowers are full of Time Dao. What maintains its neverending bloom are the minute spirits that are like white dots. You will help me collect minute spirits as an exchange for the other antidote."
"Oh. So that's why you requested for that artifact!" Jin Xuan Meng exclaimed. She shook her head while grinning. "You really know a lot of things. I heard you were very studious when you were in the village school. No wonder you are this clever."
"Enough with it. You have yours, right?" he took out an hourglass with rune markings. Jin Xuan Meng showed a normal hourglass and Zi Yingjun exchanged with her. Zi Yingjun brought out a brush with four carvings. The two last carvings were empty but the first one was black and the second one was half black. He started concentrating his qi and divine sense on the brush. The first sign and half of the second sign brightened.
Zi Yingjun swiftly wrote the same rune symbols on the hourglass. Afterwards he placed it back to his space ring. He took out the Hundred Frost Bow and shot an arrow into the spring. Two pillars of ice emerged with a flat surface.
"Is your qi sea full?" Zi Yingjun asked. Jin Xuan Meng checked before nodding. "Good. Place it all inside the hourglass I gave you then give it to me."
"Oh. Wont it break? This is just an hourglass." she rotated the empty hourglass as Zi Yingjun raised a brow. "Alright, alright. You're so demanding."
Jin Xuan Meng concentrated all her qi into the hourglass. To her surprise, the rune formation on the hourglass started actively annexing her qi very quick. She drained her qi sea and hastily stopped the process.
"What the..."
"If you want to ask a question, just ask." Zi Yingjun snatched the hourglass after filling the hourglass he have.
"How did that happen? Does it have something to do with the brush? Wasn't it just a broken Source Brush? Is this why you requested me to persuade the clan leader in including the Source Brush for the tributes?" Jin Xuan Meng quickly asked.
"You can leave." Zi Yingjun waved his hand without answering.
"But you-"
"I only said you can ask. I didn't say I will answer." he smiled haughtily as Jin Xuan Meng's jaw dropped. She angrily stomped her foot and kicked a rock into the spring before leaving.
"I'll spill this to Shi Zhao once we meet!"
"Good luck then! You'll need that." Zi Yingjun shouted back. A rock was thrown into the cave. He caught it easily before laughing. Zi Yingjun then turned his gaze to a corner with his lips hooked up. "So, how long are you going to stay there? Do you want to turn into an old prune already?"
Hai Liang poked her head out of the water surface. She warily looked at him. "Please turn your back. Mind propriety first."
He simply raised a brow and crossed his arms. "Just get on here or I'll drag you forcibly." Zi Yingjun threatened. Hai Liang's face turned red in anger. "You don't believe me? Perhaps you know how bad my reputation is. I won't even care if I get accused in harassing a kid."
