The lonely alpha and the red-eyed girl

Nick POV Here I am, on a typical Sunday night in the middle of February. Patrolling the borders of my pack, the Black Night pack. We have over 600 pack members who are all loyal to me, their alpha. I vowed to protect them all and to treat them like my family. I love them deeply but still I feel so alone, like a piece of me is missing. My beta Andrew thinks that when I find my mate it will all be better. But I think the Moon Goddess did not grant me one, all because of the death of my parents. My wolf, Atlas, is much more optimistic on that part. He hopes that the Goddess grants us our other part, the missing piece of our soul. But I guess time will tell, however long it takes. Andrew doesn't like that I patrol the borders on my own, but it's the only thing that keeps the loneliness away. Ever since my parents died in the War against Magiora, I have felt so lonely in my life. The war took the lives of hundreds of creatures; wolfs, fairies, vampires, dragons, lycans and other. All because of the greed of the Fairy King, who wanted to rule over all of the kingdoms. There are four kingdoms; the Werewolf Kingdom is called Nightshadow, the Fairy Kingdom is Magiora. Then you have the Vampire Kingdom Bloodwater and the Dark Kingdom where all other creatures reside. The Fairy King has not been seen since the War but the rumours have it that he still lives. His Queen however was found dead right outside their Kingdom and their daughter is nowhere to be found. So we don't know if she survived the War or not. I have been so busy with my thoughts that I did not sense another presence until she was right in front of me. Looking at me with her fiery red eyes and her long black hair flowing down her back. I'm taking aback by her beauty, so natural and so hypnotising. It's only when I start to breathe again that I smell it, the best aroma to ever exist. The sweet smell of vanilla and a hint of lavender. My wolf instantly came forth and whispered 'Mate'. The girl looked so stunned, like she did not expect to see anyone out here. In a mere second she turned and started to run away. I instantly ran after her and called out to her "Wait! I won't hurt you!" but she did not stop. I ran after her and finally was able to grab her. We fell to the ground and her scent was so intoxicating that my wolf started to purr. Atlas, the big bad Alphawolf, was actually purring right now. Her scent and the sparks where our skin touches just makes him mellow. I've never seen him so relaxed. She turns to me with a deadly glare and says "Get off of me! Let me go!" but I don't, I just keep holding on. Does she not feel the bond? After a couple of minutes she starts to stop trashing and I let her go a little. She looks at me and now I can see that she is covered in dirt and her hair is matted. She's wearing dirty clothes that look like they've seen better days. She's so skinny that I can feel her bones. I wonder what happened to her, she must have been a prisoner somewhere. I look at her and say "It's okay, no one will hurt you here. I will make sure of that, just come with me. You can have all the food that you want and new clothes. You will be safe, I won't let anyone hurt you." She looks likes she's thinking about it and eventually says "Okay, I'll come with you but I won't stay long. There are people after me, dangerous people." I link my beta to tell him that I'm coming back with someone and to have a room prepped for her on the Alpha floor. And to have the cook prepare a big dinner for two people. With that we walk back to the packhouse. When we reach it, she looks so adorable when she takes in the whole packhouse. Standing tall with five floors, it looks like a gigantic villa with room for over 100 people. "If you like, I could give you a tour tomorrow?" I ask and she nods. Maybe she will decide to stay if she likes it. I decide to ask the question that's been keeping my mind busy the whole walk up here. "What's your name?" "Serafina, and yours?" she asks me and her voice sounds so sweet, it's like I'm in heaven. "That's a beautiful name." I tell her and she blushes for a second. "My name is Nick, I'm the Alpha here. You're in Black Night. How old are you? Are you over 18?" She nods her head No. So that must be why she doesn't feel the bond. Atlas huffs in agreement. "How old are you?" she asks and I answer "I'm turning 20 next week. You can stay for the celebration if you want." I decide not to push her, but hopefully she stays until she's able to feel the bond. "Well let's get you cleaned up and you can eat after. It's being prepared as we speak." She looks grateful and I show her to her room, which is right next to mine. "I will let you shower and then we can go downstairs to have dinner together." I tell her. She just nods and disappears into her room.
