Salem followed River out to the garage, her nerves humming with excitement and a little apprehension. The bike gleamed under the morning light, black and sleek, polished to a mirror finish. River swung a leg over effortlessly, the kind of ease that came from years of experience, then offered her a hand. “Ready?” he asked, voice calm but carrying a teasing edge.
