[ Luca ] I was still on an emotional high after my time with Wyatt. After spending the evening watching classical movies, eating junk food, and making out – a lot of making out – I knew that we were on the same page and that our relationship could only blossom from here on out. I hadn’t wanted to leave, but I also hadn’t wanted to act too quickly, so I had forced myself to leave Wyatt and head home. “Honey!” I heard my mom call out for me and I shot up as I glared at my closed bedroom door. “What?” I yelled back as my hand gripped the blanket closer to my naked body. Her timing sucked. “Are you going to work today?” she asked, and I could hear that she was right outside my door. “Yes,” I answered as I silently hoped my morning wood would take a hike. “Ok…there is a plate for you in the oven and your father has left already. I’m going too. Will we be seeing you later?” I smiled at that. This was her way of trying to figure out how things had gone with Wyatt. “Doubtful,” I shouted as I finally got out of bed. “Good,” I heard her say before the sound of her retreating footsteps echoed through the silent house. I glanced down at my withering wood and contemplated whether or not I should revive my morning antics or if I should simply get ready for the day. The answer to what to do next came in the form of a text message and I hurriedly grabbed my phone from the nightstand. ✉Seff: Any chance you could stop by the packhouse on your way to the center? I growled out in irritation. Not at his request, but because I had been hoping it was Wyatt. However, as I stood there, I realized that nothing was stopping me from messaging him first. ✉Luca: Sure, I’ll stop by in about ten minutes or so. I then opened up my text thread with Wyatt and took a moment to send him a message. ✉Luca: Morning mate, I hope you have a good day and I hope to see you tonight? I then threw my phone on the bed and headed to the bathroom. I was more than tempted to wait for his response, but I figured he was already at work and wouldn’t answer me right away. It was while I was in the shower that I heard the loud knocking coming from downstairs. “I’m coming!” I yelled as I quickly rinsed the soap from my body. I then turned off the water and I could hear that whoever was at the door was still knocking. “I’m coming!” I yelled out once again as I wrapped the soft fluffy towel around my waist. I made sure that the towel was secured before I rushed downstairs. The knocking was continuous and annoying, so when I roughly pulled open the door, my mouth dropped at seeing who had been the one knocking. “Your coming?” Wyatt asked with a smirk, and I reached out and fisted his shirt before pulling him forward and into the house. He had the sense to grasp the door and it slammed behind him. I didn’t hesitate to crash my lips against his and Wyatt didn’t pause as his large hands roamed over my wet skin. “Wyatt…what are you doing here?” I asked against his lips. “I had to drop off something for my mom, so I thought I’d stop by and say hi,” he whispered, and I arched against him as I pressed soft kisses against his jaw and neck. “Hmm,” I hummed out as I felt his hands grip the globes of my ass. The towel hid nothing, and a flicker of worry shot through me. Was this too fast? “I need to meet Seff soon,” I grumbled as I forced myself to step back from him. “Right, pack duties and all of that,” the words were bitter, but as I glanced up at him, he was clearly teasing me, and I lightly punched his arm. “Right,” “So…good morning, mate,” he growled out as he pulled me back up against his chest. “I was hoping you would come by after I finished work,” “What time?” I asked as I tried to ignore the heat radiating from him. “Same time,” he whispered before he leaned in and kissed me deeply. Although our upper bodies were flush against each other, I had my hips angled away from his lower half. Even though I was dying for some contact, I did have pack duties and all of that. “I’ll see you then,” I said before I finally pulled away from him. Wyatt reached into his pocket and pulled out a key. “It’s for the front door so that you don’t need me to buzz you in,” he explained as I eyed the silver object. “Take it, Luca. It’s not the key to my apartment, but if you want one of those, I can have that arranged as well,” “Not yet,” I muttered as I slowly took the key from him. “I have to…go,” “Of course, see you later…mate,” he kissed my cheek, and then he was gone. I shook my head as I tried to clear the fuzz and headed back upstairs to get dressed. I was beyond distracted, but by the time I got to the packhouse, I was ready to get some answers. “Ten minutes or so?” Decker teased the second I entered Seff’s office. The two of them were looking at me knowingly, but that wasn’t possible. Was it? “I don’t know what you are talking about,” I growled out as I took a seat across from the desk Seff was sitting behind. “Right, so that wasn’t Wyatt knocking on your door this morning?” Decker asked as innocently as possible, and I squeezed my eyes shut. “The wolf is out of the bag!” “Literally,” Seff added, and I groaned as I opened my eyes. “I don’t remember this level of teasing when you guys got with your mates,” “Oh? You don’t remember?” Seff asked as he leaned forward. “Should I refresh your memory?” “Hey! You had issues with Robin, so we didn’t tease you,” I immediately argued. “In fact, you had issues too, so the teasing was kept to a minimum,” “True…but this is the first time we get to tease you about it…so…” Decker’s voice trailed off as he sat down on one of the other chairs. “In all seriousness, Luca…is everything…ok?” I knew what he was asking, and I glanced between my cousin and my friend. “Everything is more than ok…but can I ask you both some questions?” Seff raised his brow curiously while Decker simply nodded. “How long…ahem…how long did it take before you…” “What?” Decker urged when my voice trailed off. “Got intimate?” Seff offered and I nodded. “Honestly, because Robin didn’t know and I was trying my best to just be her friend, it didn’t happen that quickly,” “Same here,” Decker said. “Right…but once they knew…once you had established each other as mates…how long?” I asked as I tried to keep the desperation out of my voice. “Not long,” Seff admitted with a faint blush. “Yeah, it wasn’t long,” “And how long before you completed the bond?” I asked that question because I knew that it hadn’t happened right away, and I couldn’t quite remember at what point it had happened. “Robin needed to tell me about her mom before we completed the bond. Marking each other is…a lot more intimate than making love. It’s a lot more intense and both partners need to be ready,” “Both physically and emotionally,” Decker added. “Kayley needed to move past her fears before we completed the bond,” I nodded in understanding as I relaxed. “So, the need was instant?” I then asked and both of them nodded immediately. “The s****l tension is very real, Luca. There won’t be a moment where you feel ready, you’ll want him from the get-go,” Seff explained, and I relaxed even more. “But there will be a moment where you will feel ready to complete the bond,” “And he feels the same way?” I asked and Decker frowned. “The same way as what? To rip off your clothes or towel and have his way with you?” I slapped his arm as hard as I could. “Ow,” he huffed out with a grin. “I’m talking about the…sexual tension,” “Yes, he feels it too,” Seff confirmed. “Anything else you want to ask, or can we get this meeting started?” “No, I’m done…for now,” I admitted. “Good, now…let’s discuss our business opportunities,” Seff said as he looked over at Decker. I was tempted to zone out, but I sat up straighter and paid attention as Decker explained the numerous businesses that he had meetings with, and even though none of that had anything to do with me, I knew that it was important for me to pay attention. “Sorry I’m late!” a rough voice said as the door flew open, and I smiled as I watched my dad hurry inside. “You are right on time,” Seff reassured him as my dad pulled up a chair and sat down. “Decker just finished telling us about his meetings for the upcoming week and what we could potentially expect,” my dad nodded and then looked over at me and smiled knowingly. I blushed hard at that and ducked my head as I tried to avoid anyone else seeing my face. “What do you have to report?” Seff then asked and I was forced to look up. My dad nodded at me, and I took a deep breath. “Training is going well, and I have a meeting with my mom on Friday about opening up the training for younger pups,” “Good. Any idea what you’d like to do?” Seff questioned, and I nodded. “Yes, since many of them are already at the daycare center, we can have certain aged groups with various levels of training. This will also help each child figure out their place not only in the pack but with what they want to do in life,” “How so?” Decker asked curiously, and I turned to him. “Think back to when you first started training,” I said slowly, and I noticed that both Seff and Decker were thinking back to that time. “Despite knowing that you would one day be Beta…or Alpha…how did you feel about your training?” I already knew the answer since I knew them both very well, but I waited for them to come to their own conclusion. “I hated training,” Decker admitted. “I loved it,” Seff said. “Right, so that meant what exactly?” Decker asked as he leaned back in his seat. “It meant that if you hadn’t been titled, you wouldn’t be a warrior or have anything to do with protecting the pack,” I stated. Decker looked surprised and almost ashamed, so I hurried to continue. “That would’ve meant that your strengths would’ve drawn you in elsewhere. Like…you enjoy communicating with people and our members. You prefer being the negotiator rather than the aggressor,” I saw him nod, lost in thought, and I glanced over at Seff, who was smiling. “So…I can understand you figuring out who would be a warrior or a protector, but for those that aren’t?” Seff asked, and this time it was me who smiled. “That’s where my mom comes in,” “Once Luca and Meghan have established the warriors, she will then give the others tests to see where their strength lies,” “I love it,” Seff said as he stood up. “Keep me up to date with that, Luca,” “Will do,” I said as we all then stood up. “Great…” Seff then turned to Decker. “Shall we?” he asked him, and I knew that they had further business to see too, and so I followed after my dad. “How’d things with Wyatt go?” he whispered as we left the packhouse. “Don’t expect me home tonight,” was all I said.
