The Broken Crater
Once the trees had been felled, stripped of branches and cut into lengths, the logs were placed in large piles. The next task was to clear the stumps, which should have been a relatively easy process, using the right machinery. A backhoe loader was the easiest solution, simply because it had the sheer strength to pull them out of the ground, quickly and easily. John was one of the guys who the city who had temporarily employed for just the day, and he owned a similar machine to a large JCB digger. With a crew of two working for him, he was assigned to the task of stump removal, digging up the numerous tree roots that now scattered the land.
