In the morning when the clock hits around 3 my parents are already preparing the products. We sell peanuts dipped in boiling oil. We actually had 3 different peanut products the ones we called "Pulang mani (Red peanut)", " Puting mani (White peanut) " and the last one my favorite is the "coated"-( coated with sugar). These were the main products that could never be forgotten. The Red peanut is just simply peanut being dipped in a hot boiling oil. Of course these peanuts are already clean like no peanut "shell".So the one that add color to the peanut is the very thin sheets of the peanut itself the color pink sheets of the raw peanut will turn red after dipping it in the hot oil. On the other hand the White peanut is quite interesting to prepare because first you must boil the peanut in boiling water before dipping it to the hot oil. So somehow it is like double cooked but it has its own purpose. The boiling process would develop the watery substance in the side the peanut that would make it easier for us to remove the thin sheet from the peanut. Once the thin sheets are removed, the peanuts are now ready to be dipped into the hot oil. And the result is perfect. It is not that crunchy but the aroma is much better than the red peanut. The last one is the sugar coated peanut. This is just very easy to prepare. First you must make a sugar caramel then after that add the peanut on the caramel then mix til it dried up. After All of these stuff, we will repack the peanuts into small packs for 5 pesos which is equivalent to 0.10$. We have a lot of products, bottled water, Candies, cigarettes, and sometimes fruits like mangoes, rambutan, lansones, apples and oranges. So at around 6 my parents would prepare the station in the Terminal. and at around 10 in the morning my Elder siblings would bring us to the Terminal so they could help my parents to sell.
These are the typical days and every Sunday's the rest day, we go to church.
