Before I know it, we’re walking through the gardens, heading for the tables where everyone is. I could feel a thousand pairs of eyes on us but I did not mind, keeping close to June and pretending like it was just the two of us.  Because it felt like it was just the two of us.  My hand was holding her wrist, her skin warm to touch. I wanted to pull away as it had already past the appropriate time to touch, but I didn’t.
