AURALIS
In the land of Auralis, many centuries ago, magic became one with humanity.
No one remembered exactly how it happened. Ancient scrolls claimed that the stars had once fallen upon the earth, scattering their power among the first humans.
Some said Immortal beings had mated with the women on the earth and produced Sons and Daughters with Gifts
Others told of a forgotten goddess who had blessed mankind with gifts to protect them from the darkness beyond their world.
Whatever the truth, magic had become as natural as Life was to Mankind.
This truth however , lays in the pages of an Ancient book . Not written in paper or in scrolls. But , like a volt it insides held sounds, voices of Different language . Languages only the True one could comprehend. This book was called THE TESTAMENT.
Every child born in Auralis carried the promise of power within them, It was called ”Ika” which meant second being. On their first birthday, the Ika would awaken. Some children would make flowers bloom with a touch. Others would summon flames from their fingertips, move objects without lifting a hand, or hear whispers from miles away.
And when a child’s power revealed itself, so did their place in the world.
Auralis was divided into seven great nations, each ruled by the descendants of those who had first mastered the most extraordinary forms of magic.
The Ignivar were masters of flame. Their fire could devour armies, melt stone, and turn the night sky red. They were fierce warriors whose rulers believed strength was the only language the world truly respected.
The Tempestri commanded the winds and storms. They could summon lightning, bend the air around them, and cross vast distances upon currents invisible to ordinary eyes. Their floating citadels stood among the highest peaks in Auralis.
The Terravans possessed dominion over earth and stone. Mountains shifted at their command, walls rose from bare ground, and the strongest among them could split the earth beneath an enemy’s feet.
The Aquarions wielded the power of water. They could control rivers, freeze lakes, and summon waves large enough to swallow entire fleets. Their magnificent cities were built along deep blue shores.
The Verdaryn held the gift of life. They could heal wounds, encourage plants to grow, and influence the bodies of living creatures. Their healers were treasured throughout Auralis, though the most powerful among them were feared as much as they were admired.
The Veilborn ruled over shadows and perception. They could conceal their presence, distort what others saw, and weave illusions so convincing that even experienced warriors struggled to separate truth from deception.
Finally, there were the Chronari, the rarest and most mysterious of the seven. Their powers touched time and probability. Some could glimpse possible futures; others could slow a moment for a heartbeat or sense the paths an event might take. Even among them, no one could truly command time without consequence.
These seven nations stood at the summit of Auralis, their names spoken with reverence and fear.
But not everyone was born with the power to command flames, summon storms, or bend the world to their will.
Beyond the seven great nations lived a vast population known collectively as the Urgers.
Their powers were small, ordinary, and often dismissed by the superior powers.
An Urger might possess the ability to smell rain before the clouds appeared, warm a cup of water with a touch, sense when someone was approaching from behind, or make a candle flicker without wind. Some could locate lost objects they had once held. Others could strengthen a thread, sharpen their hearing slightly, or recognize a familiar face from a great distance.
Their gifts rarely won battles or earned them seats on royal councils. Yet the Urgers kept Auralis functioning. They were its farmers, traders, builders, tailors, healers, and craftsmen. They made the tools the powerful wielded and grew the food the powerful ate.
Still, the seven nations looked down upon them.
To be born an Urger was to inherit a life in which greatness seemed to belong to someone else.
If anyone born in Urger possessed the power of any of the great kingdoms, which was a very Rare phenomenon. they would migrate without their families , to the kingdom of their own kind . Many migrated before their eighteenth birthday. others , if their powers were to powerful, migrated on their first.
And in the Urger settlement of Elaren, there lived a girl who had spent seventeen years wishing she had been born into anything but it.
Her name was Ala.
