Arcana walks outside of the restaurant answering her phone.
“Hey” double checking the callers name says Devon.
“You busy? I wanna see you tonight.”
“Devon, We saw each other last night, and you know you’re not my boyfriend, right?”
“Arcana, you always say that. I know we’re no strings attached. If you think I’m gonna fall in love with you, don’t worry. It’s not like I love you or anything. I just like f*cking you.” She could tell he was smirking through the phone.
Arcana shifts on the balls of her feet - she liked it when Devon talked dirty to her. It got her excited. She contemplated whether or not she wanted to have him over tonight, obviously knowing what would happen. “I don’t know, I’m pretty tired.”
“Come on, Arcana... Don’t you want me to lick your wet p***y tonight? I know you love that sh*t.” His voice in a hushed tone. Arcana became excited and wet. “Fine, but you’ll have to wait. I’m busy right now. I’ll call you later when I get home.” She hangs up and stares at her phone for a couple of seconds, watching the screen black out.
She looks up and sees Scarla and Ama asking for the check and looking out the window watching Arcana. Ama has a welcoming ‘are you coming back in?’ Look on her face. Scarla is staring at the phone in her hand trying to see if she can catch a glimpse of the name of her caller. No luck, Scarla thought. The screen is already black.
Arcana walks back in and sits down, waiting for her check amongst the three. They all got separate checks. Scarla, trying to hide her burning curiosity towards Arcanas evening endeavors. “So, ladies, any other plans tonight?”
“I think I’ll head home and snuggle up with my Fiancé. She should be coming back from her business trip tonight. It’ll be nice to spend the rest of the weekend with her.” Scarla smiles “that does sound nice. What about you, Arcana? Any... interesting plans tonight?” Shifting her attention towards Arcana and away from Ama. “Hmm, maybe. A friend might come by.” Shrugging as she says this nonchalantly.
Ama and Scarlas eye both go wide. “ARE YOU SEEING SOMEONE?!” Ama squeals - grabbing Scarla by the arm as if she just heard the most amazing news ever. “Uhh, no. He’s just a FRIEND. I’m not interested in dating at the moment.” Laughing at Amas obvious let down.
“If you aren’t dating, then what’s the point?” Says Scarla annoyed. “I mean, what kind of friend comes over this late at night. It’s almost 9:00PM! Doesn’t that send the wrong message as a woman?” Both Ama and Arcana look at each other. “You’re not serious are you?” Ama lets go of Scarlas arm in disbelief she would even say something so outdated in the year 2022. “I just mean, if you’re sleeping around like a common w***e, why would anyone want to be in a relationship if they can just get the cow for free?!”
Ama glances over at Arcana with her mouth open. Arcana stands up from the table. “Scarla, I don’t know what your problem is, but my business isn’t your business.” Turning to Ama “maybe next time don’t invite me.” Walking out of the restaurant, annoyed at the audacity of that woman and to add a cherry on top, she has to see her Monday morning. Ugh.
Feeling the hot water splash on her back was just what she needed after a long day. Hot showers always relaxed her and made her feel at ease. She got out the shower, dried herself off, grabbed a T-shirt and panties walked towards her balcony with a glass of wine and her iPad. She sat down on her comfy chair with her soft blanket and started drinking her wine. After about 15 minutes of scrolling on her iPad reading her smutty comics, she refilled her glass of wine staring out into the night sky. Longing for something... More.
She wondered what time it was and realized she had forgotten her phone in the bathroom. She got up to go to the bathroom and found her phone on the bathroom counter. Looking through her phone calls, she had about 3 missed calls from Devon, 2 new texts from Devon -
‘Why aren’t you answering my calls?’
‘Don’t you want me to lick your wet p*ssy?’
and 1 missed call from Ama.
Not feeling in the mood to answer any of them while walking back to her balcony, she put her phone down, took a couple more sips of her wine, and wrapped herself up in her soft blanket in her cozy chair. She started thinking about her day. She hadn’t realized how empty things felt for her. Feeling a bit annoyed and dissatisfied, she mumbled “where are you?” as images of the falling comet ran through her head. Arcana drifted off to sleep with a single tear rolling down her cheek.
