Prologue- The Journey Begins
Every day a baby is born. Everyday a baby dies. However, in this particular story, not so much. A baby is born to a regular mother named Janis and a regular father named Hector. Both parents are very well off, so naturally, the baby itself, whom they named Hope, would be well off as well. A trust fund baby, to be exact. A few weeks after its birth, baby Hope dies in her sleep. Time was up for baby Hope. On to her next journey. However, The Universe had other plans for what was once baby Hopes vessel. The Universe placed a very special soul inside what was once baby Hopes home.
In the morning, Baby Hopes mother picked her up and looked at her and suddenly felt an over whelming need to change baby Hopes name. What she did not know was that she was giving a new soul a name, but not just any name, a name whispered to her ear by The Universe. This soul was to be named and called Arcana. What's interesting enough is that Arcanas' soul slowly changed the appearance of this baby as if this soul was molding its vessel to fit its host.
Arcanas' eyes slowly changed from their natural dark brown eyes to a light pastel purple that had a sort of twinkling effect, especially in the sunlight. Her parents thought it was some sort of defect or eye illness, so, of course, they took her to doctor after doctor, fearing the worst. Luck was on their side (so they thought) when no doctor could figure it out and just chalked it up to some sort of 'weird genetic defect'.
Growing up with pastel purple eyes that seemed to sparkle did not go unnoticeable by friends and family. Unfortunately, it even made some grown adults jealous. These same jealous adults were the cause of some weird and nasty accusations. (That bit may sound irrelevant, but these self-made villains always tend to make a comeback.) This does not exclude teachers either.
After a few years, the hype died down until the next new thing arrived in town and everyone got used to Arcanas' pastel purple eyes that seemed to sparkle in the sunlight. By the time she was a senior in high school, everyone was somewhat accustomed to her very unique iris color and it made her somewhat popular, even though she still preferred to be alone most days during lunch.
During a very heated game of dodgeball in gym class, Arcana noticed what she thought was a heart shaped rock in the gravel by the grass. She started to make her way towards the interesting looking rock when BAM! she was hit in the head full force with a dodgeball-knocking her unconscious instantly.
While unconscious, Arcana dreamed of a falling star rushing towards her. She instantly got up in a panic, feeling a sense of urgency that something was coming. Her classmates were gathered around her when she came too and they were all asking her if she was okay. "You took a big hit" one student said. "She's fine, it's not like she died", a jealous girl in the back shouted as she rolled her eyes with arms crossed standing very obnoxiously.
Getting hit full force with a dodgeball left what looked like rugburn on her right ear and as she walked to the nurses office, she sat down with an ice pack on her ear. She laid down and decided to take advantage of the mini-break from class to take a power nap. When she woke up about 15 minutes later, the bell rang - gym class was over. She couldn't stop thinking about the heart-shaped rock so she went back outside where she got hit by the dodgeball and searched where she was standing, wondering if it was just her imagination.
Only it was not. She spotted the heart-shaped rock. As she picked it up, she noticed how warm it felt in her hand. It was small in size, practically unnoticeable. She surprised herself with how she was able to spot it - it was a bit smaller than a dime. Taking an interest to it, she decided to put it in her pocket and keep it. "Maybe I could turn you into a cool necklace or something." she said out loud to herself. Feeling relieved, gym class was the last class of the day for her. She changed out of her gym clothes, put on her regular school clothes and went home.
At home, Arrcana put the heart shaped rock on the dresser by her bedside table for safe keeping. She gathered her pajamas and headed to her personal bathroom, which was in her room, to shower and de stress from the day. She stepped out of the shower and looked at herself in the mirror. She had caramel colored skin, dark curly shoulder-length hair, dark eyebrows, and purple pastel sparkly eyes. She really was quite beautiful. "So glad high school is officially over" she said loudly to herself with a huge sigh of relief. "I hope college flies by as fast as high school did" she chuckled to herself. Arcana got into bed, turned off the light, and went to sleep.
