Chapter 34 The Alluring Secretary
“Lisa, do you want me to give you a ride?”
The HR manager, who was nearing fifty in a few years, asked kindly. She smiled before gently declining.
“Thank you very much, Charles, but my house is in the opposite direction from yours. I don't want to trouble you.”
“I can give you a ride, don’t worry about it.”
“No, it’s alright, Charles. Thank you so much.”
She politely pressed her palms together in front of her chest and gave a slight bow—a gesture of respect—to the kind man.
“As you wish. By the way, has Mr. Chris signed your resignation letter yet?”
The young woman pressed her lips into a straight line before forcing a smile in response.
“Not yet.”
“See, I told you Mr. Chris wouldn’t let you resign so easily.”
“Why do you think that, Charles?”
