CHAPTER FOURTEEN: Destiny

Alfur stopped Elva as she was about to run to Melian.
“We need that light right now, I'll check up on her" Alfur rushed towards Melian and carried her bridal style.
“Are you alright?" He could see she was very weak, her eyes were already drooping.
“You can't kill it," She murmured.
“But he tried to kill us," Melian shook her head.
“We tried to kill him, look?He's not doing anything right now" Alfur turned to the dragon and noticed Melian was right. It was just staring at them, better yet, it was staring at her. He turned to her.
“We won't kill it" He promised and she believed him.
“Rest now, we will figure out what's your connection with it when you wake up" Alfur said. She smiled at him and succumbed to sleep. He sighed before turning back to look at the dragon.
“Let's hope it doesn't attack us before then" He whispered....
Somewhere Unknown....
“What do you mean she used her magic?" A woman asked her apprentice. He shook in fear.
“I saw through the eye my queen" The woman cussed.
“How is that possible?I made her unable to use her powers," She yelled. The apprentice turned to her.
“She found the dragon" The woman abruptly turned to him.
“What did you say?" She asked menacingly. The apprentice broke a sweat.
“Sh..she..fo...found..the..dra..dragon my queen" He stuttered. She stared at him in shock.
“That's impossible, I've been looking for that dragon for centuries" She muttered. She screamed as she tugged at her hair.
“That stupid curious Lykra is getting on my nerves with every passing minute, maybe it's time to pay her a visit" She murmured. The apprentice quickly stood up.
“That won't be advisable my Queen, remember the plan?She has to lead us to the cave of THANATOS" The apprentice reminded her. The woman sighed before nodding.
“Okay then, I'll wait till then but after that, I'll crush her into bits".......
Melian woke up with a start and the first thing she saw was Alfur's face. She stood up abruptly. He turned to her.
“You're finally awake" He murmured and stood up too. She looked around and saw Damien and Ace were in their fighting stance in front of the dragon while Elva was still holding up the Light bubble and Alfur was holding her. She was about to blush when the dragon roared at her.
“Don't!!" She yelled when she saw the guys were about to attack him. Her heart was pounding as she walked slowly towards the dragon. They stood there staring into each other's eyes as she stood in front of it. As she raised her hands to touch it, it flared it's nose at her.
“It's okay, I'm not going to hurt you" She said gently. They all stared at her in awe except Alfur, who was staring at her and the dragon curiously. The Dragon stared at her for a while before it laid down it's head in front of her like he was bowing towards her. She stared at it in shock but quickly recovered. She moved her hands again and touched it's head. As soon as her hand came in contact with it, she gasped as she felt a powerful electric like force flow throughout her body. She screamed out loud as she lifted up the ground. Elva was about to run towards her when Alfur stopped her. He shook his head at her and told her to wait before turning back to Melian. Melian's body glowed dark green as she lifted off the ground. As the dragon looked up at her, it's eyes glowed green as hers. She felt a feeling of deja Vu as the power passed through her body.
“What's happening?" Damien asked Alfur.
“It's transferring his power to her," he Said simply. They all stared at him in shock before turning their attention to the scene in front of them. Finally, the dragon's eyes turned back to its normal colour as it slumped on the ground. The green glow around Melian's body disappeared and she fell towards the ground but Alfur was quick enough to catch her.
“What just happened?" She muttered. He smirked at her.
“It gave you it's power" Her eyes widened at his words. She abruptly turned towards the dragon and saw it was at the verge of death. She tried to get away from Alfur but he just held her tighter.
“Where are you going?" He questioned. She pushed him away firmly and walked towards the dragon. He glanced at her briefly before it closed its eyes. She touched it's head.
“Why did you do that?" She murmured.
“Because that's what it was meant to do" Alfur said from behind her. She moved towards the dragon and kissed it's head. As soon as she withdrew herself, the dragon's body began to disappear and so did the darkness above them. They all stared at it in shock. The dragon finally disappeared and they could see the sun again.
“Wow, so it was the one that created the darkness" Ace said in awe from behind them.
“I wonder why," Melian muttered.
“It used it to hide itself," Alfur declared. They all nodded. That seemed like a good explanation.
“Yeah but from what?" Damien questioned.
“That's what we need to find out" Melian turned to Alfur as she said. He smiled down at her and outstretched his hands towards her, she took it without hesitation.
“This dragon sacrificed it's life for a reason and I feel like it's reason inclines with ours" Ace, Damien and Elva looked at her in confusion. Alfur sighed.
“Obviously this dragon was hiding from someone powerful and Melian is thinking maybe it's the same person that cursed us" he pointed at Damien “Destroyed your family" he pointed at Ace “And locked you guys in Aneathra" They all nodded in understanding.
“But wait....a lykra did all this" Ace pointed out.
“We are not sure about that Ace, that's why we need to find this cave and this book before this person gets it. Melian, what did the voice tell you the last time you guys talked?" Alfur asked.
“That it's my destiny" Alfur nodded at her words.
“Same thing it told me. I guess it's up to us to fulfil this destiny" he smiled back at Melian in which she smiled back before turning to the rest of them.
“We need to get there fast".....
