Nothing Special But All Unique

1724 Words
TIME [12:15 PM] The three angels made their entrance into a well-known restaurant of the city, finally escaping from the shackles of college. Free. A few heads turned to look at the gorgeous sight. Oblivious to all that, they occupied the table next to a glass window in the front corner of the restaurant. "What should I order, guys?" Kayara asked, going through the menu as she was sitting on the outer side of the table. "My stomach is growling like a tiger for food, so I'll eat whatever you order," Sophie said. The morning assignment had really exhausted her. "Chilly cheese noodles and a lemon mint mojito for me," Anna trilled happily and Kayara nodded, "Okay, I'm going to the counter to order. Be right back." Kayara got up and headed towards the counter. The queue was short so the order was placed quickly. "Your order will be ready in 10 minutes, Miss, please wait. Anything else to add to the bill?" Kayara shook her head and left the counter for the time being and headed towards the restrooms. Back at the table by the window, Sophie and Anna had pulled out their phones to check their daily feed the moment Kayara left. The two girls suddenly jolted and looked up toward the front door of the restaurant to see what was going on. A ruckus had broken out right in front of them. A young man in his mid-twenties screamed his lungs out in front of them. In front of him stood a tiny waiter, trembling from head to toe. The girls noticed a large coffee stain on the man's perfectly white shirt and understood the matter. "What the hell are you doing? Can't you see ahead while walking?" "I...I'm very sorry, sir. It was by mistake," the waiter apologized, fumbling for words, "I can dry wash it for you, sir. You can wait in the restroom till then," He quivered out loud, fear flashing in his dark black eyes. "No need. I'll do it myself," the young man replied in a cold voice with zero expression on his face. He turned to go to the restrooms to clean up that low-class mess. A few of the people in the restaurant were enjoying the funny scene. The young man was in a khaki trouser and his shirt flaunted his perfect broad shoulders. Black oxford dress shoes tapped on the floor and along his one hand hung a costly beige blazer jacket. No doubt, this man was a rich business man with an aura as cold as the ice glaciers of Antarctica. Like his attire, his face and body features were also perfect. He was, well, different from all others. He was handsome, perhaps not in the conventional sense, but he had that appearance which could make him stand out in a crowd. He was fair, almost pale white. His unfathomable, brown eyes contrasted exceptionally with his light toned face. Those eyes were deep but expressionless, where one could get lost if you stare long enough into those eyes. His face had that faraway look in it, which can't be described in words, complemented with demoniac black hair. Above all was his frame and his stature. He was probably not extremely muscular with eight pack abs or 16 cm biceps. However, he could stand out in a crowd, which was mostly due to the way he carried himself. He was not the kind who had girls swooning over him, because of the icy and frigid aura emitting from his personality. He had a persona of 'nothing special, but all unique and one in a million'. The young man had entered the restroom and was long gone. Lots of things happened in that ruckus, but one thing remained unchanged and unnoticed. And that was Sophie's gaze, which didn't leave that young man's face from the starting. She even forgot to blink her eyes as if she didn't want to spend even a second without looking at him. There was a small cute smile on her face. The girl who didn't even spare a second glance to any other normal boy was now doing something unbelievable. 'He's back.' Sophie mumbled under her breath. She shook her head, not believing herself and tried to throw that face out of her mind by engaging herself with her phone before anyone caught her staring.  .....  The young man headed towards the gent's restroom, which was next to ladies one. As he walked past the door of the ladies restroom, he collided with someone, again! But this time it was a girl. "What the hell is going on with me today?" he muttered in a low voice without looking at who he had bumped into. Ignoring each other, both of them were about to move forward and continue minding their own businesses. But God had thought of something else for them. Their legs got tangled and they tripped over each other. The young man fell to the ground taking the girl tumbling over him. It could have been an accident or one could hold the earth's high gravitation force responsible for what happened next. The girl couldn't handle her own weight and lost her balance. She was on top of him on the floor with their lips touching each other's for a mere two, or three seconds. It was a short moment yet it felt like it had stretched out to an eternity. Both of them froze in their place, staring deep into each other's eyes. Then some force cut the string tying them together. They both blinked at the same time and hastily retreated from that involuntary embrace. Coming back to her senses, the lady got up and the young man followed suit, tapping his trousers to get any remaining dirt off of him. Seeing the flustered girl in front of him, a sexy and heart-breaking smile curved up on that expressionless face of the young man. His smile, which reached up to his eyes and wrinkled at the ends, broke the barriers of his frosty personality. The look in his eyes at that meeting was completely different from his usual tough and reserved one. "Not bad," he smiled, touching his lips and made his way to the restroom, without waiting for any reaction. "Huh? Did you say something?" the confused lady raised her eyebrows, still processing in her tiny mind what she had just heard from the man's mouth. Before she could understand anything, somebody approached her in the corridor. "Kayara!"A voice called, "Why are you simply standing here in the corridor alone? Did something happen?" Kayara turned in a trance, to see who was calling her. "Hey? Everything alright? Our order is ready let's go," Anna beckoned. She had got up to find Kayara when the counter kept on calling their order but nobody picked up the food. While Sophie had decided to collect the order. 'People don't even know to apologize. p*****t!!' Kayara murmured while looking at the empty corridor behind her that led to the gents' restroom. Kayara then looked at Anna's worried expression, "It's nothing… I just bumped into some perverted guy." Anna raised her eyebrows, anger flashing in her cute round eyes, "Who was he? Did he misbehave with you?" "I don't know," Kayara shook her head, "No, no. He didn't do anything." "You sure?" Anna tried to confirm again when she noticed irritated expressions running on Kayara's face. "Hmm, Leave it. Let's go find that angry bird, she must be hungry." "Okay," Anna sighed and they made their way back to the table. ..... "We're back!" Anna said as she and Kayara made themselves comfortable. "Thank God you are here. I was getting worried thinking that Kayara and you disappeared to Mars and would never come back," Sophie joked, now taking a bit of her food. Anna giggled out loud, "We were actually thinking about it, right Kayara? But for your sake we kept that idea aside." "You are laughing when your friend is going to die of hunger here," Sophie protested, oblivious to the earlier tension in Kayara's mind. She was good at hiding her thoughts. "Okay, we are really sorry. Let's eat now," Kayara smiled and the three started to dig into the delicious food and slowly satisfy their day long hunger. In the middle of everything, Anna's phone beeped. "Ooooo…I just got a message fr—" she paused, noticing a frightening stare being shot at her. "Is it necessary for you and your phone to always ring while eating?" Sophie questioned, remembering what happened the last time Anna's phone rang like this. "It's not like that..." Anna replied. Kayara stepped in and decided to handle this conversation. She was happy that Anna was taking the prank further. With a mischievous look on her face Kayara asked, "From?" "From...from my da…dad," Anna stuttered, still staring at her screen. "Then why are you shouting like a psycho?" Kayara asked disappointingly as she didn't expect this answer from Anna. She had been waiting for something related to imaginary Alex to happen. "Because…because he just asked me to attend a party in place of him as he'll be busy tonight," she explained, her stunned expression now clearing and smiling wide, "And as we were getting bored with life anyway, isn't this an exciting news for us?" "Not for us, this is exciting only for you," Sophie said. "Hey, hey don't jump to conclusions yet, you guys are also coming with me. I already asked my dad for two extra entry passes," Anna informed, "You both are definitely coming, okay? I can't go to a business party alone." "I'm surely coming darling. How can I disappoint my friend?" Kayara laughed and accepted the offer gratefully. Sophie's face lit up when Kayara said that and she nodded, "Yup I'm definitely coming too. "Now eat, you both, we need to get back home early today." Anna said and started digging in her plate. After finishing their lunch, they headed back to their house without making any other pitstops. "We need to get ready for the evening party. Dad told me that it'll be a grand party among big businessmen in the city," Anna explained in a matter of fact tone. Her father was a businessman, so getting such invitations was normal for her. .....
