Max I trailed behind Eva and Ford, trying not to be too annoyed about the fact her boyfriend was always joining us for our daily walks these days. It wasn"t even that I didn"t like him. It was hard to be mad at him when he made Eva so happy. I hadn"t seen her like this in over five years, not since the end of the world happened and we lost our adoptive parents. And our home town, and most of her friends. Here, she was relaxed, strolling hand in hand with a guy she loved, almost paying more attention to the surrounding plant life than to what the weather was doing.
