I let the letter fall out of my hands and onto the table. So after all these years, the reason why my father treated my mother and I so badly was because he was broken-hearted and that's the reason he also abandoned his child.
It all makes sense now, why my mother put up with everything, why she told me to always forgive him and not give up on him, because she knew that deep down somewhere was the man she knew before he turned into a monster.
So this explains everything, my father abandoned Led and now he's probably coming after me for revenge or what? It doesn't make any sense, his beef is with my father and not me.
I stare at his letter and I swear every cell in my body is moving me to open it but I know that I can't, whatever is in there is not mine to read.
