MATED TO A MONSTER

- BEEP BEEP BEEP- I roll over and slap snooze as I throw the blanket over my head. I hear my door fly open with a bang as it hits the wall. “ Oh boy here we go.” “Ha ha very funny” I peek my head from under the blanket to see my best friend juniper standing in front of me. “Nice outfit.” I say with a little snicker “ yeah yeah not my usual choice but I thought senior year might as well go in making changes” I look her up and down she is wearing tight ripped jeans and some band T-shirt with leather thigh high boots on. Her brown hair is straight today, not like how it normally is all puffy and all over the place. “I can see that.” I say with the sarcasm very clear in my voice “Come on Tamsin we are gonna be late for the first day get up and get dressed, I’ll be down stairs with coffee when your ready.” She walks out with the click of her boots and I hear the door click shut. I throw my pillow on my head and let out a sigh before sliding out of bead and heading to the bathroom. I walk past the mirror and stop to take it in. The dark circles under my eyes, my long black hair all over the place from tossing and turning all night. I barely slept, it was clear by the way I looked. I grab some old jeans from the hamper and give them a quick sniff test and throw them on before walking to my closet to find a hoodie, I pick a baggy black hoodie that has a couple of holes in the sleeves. I rush back to the bathroom and throw my hair is a messy bun, quickly brushing my teeth and grabbing some random sneakers while walking out into the hall. I get down stairs to see juniper and my mom talking in the kitchen, I slide in and grab my coffee and junipers arm to walk out the door when my mom says my name while looking me up and down. “Is that really what your wearing to start the year?” She says rolling her eyes “you look like your homeless, couldn’t you put something cleaner on?”I just look at my mom for a second. I’m not ready to deal with her today so I just turn around and walk out “Well okay look dirty no one will want to mate you looking like that.” She huffs as we leave the house “God I can’t stand her” I say as we get into junipers car. “I know.” She sighs. The rest of the drive to school is quiet. We get there and are about to get in the car when juniper places her hand on my arm. “Are you nervous?” She asks I looks at here with confusion clearly in my face. “For school?” I ask “ no for tomorrow.” I look at her trying to figure out what to say. Tomorrow I will be 18 and I will be able to find my mate. It’s kinda scary not gonna lie, to think you have that much pull towards someone you don’t even know and you have an instant connection. They were given to you by the moon goddess to be your other half to complete you. “Not really.” I say casually opening my door to step out. We walk up to the bench right out from the front doors when we see him. “God what is he looking at? ” juniper asks “ who cares.” I say grabbing junipers arm to walk in to the school. Before walking away I throw a quick glance back at him. He is our soon to be Alfa, a big mistake if you ask me. He is the son of our current Alfa, Alfa jasper. And the boy giving us the weir look is soon to be Alfa Ash. He is tall, has blond wavy hair, he has a fit build but he is a monster, so is his wolf.
