The beginning.
The light flooded into the small room waking a disgruntled girl named Zyra. She had long stark white hair that ended at the middle of her back, framing her light blue eyes. She didn't consider herself pretty due to the bruises that were left by her tormentors. She hated mornings, it always meant having to feel the soreness again. Sleep was blissful as it took away the pain. She looked for some sweats and hoodie so she could hide all of her black and blue bruises that never had time to heal properly before having new additions.
She sighed as she realized she missed the bus yet again, she grabbed her backpack and ran out the door hoping she wouldn't be late yet again. She barely made it to school with five minutes to spare. She went into the bathroom to fix her hair and unfortunately ran into her main tormentor-- Mia. She had light blonde hair and brown eyes, she may have been short but she knew how to pack a punch in all the wrong places. Zyra tried to turn around back out the bathroom unnoticed but had no type of luck as she was dragged back by her hair. She winced against the pain before being pinned against the wall roughly. She looked down at Mia pleading with her eyes for mercy as her throat was constricted.
"I thought I made it clear to you, you aren't wanted here! Go back to your pack, you dumb b***h!" she spat venom behind every word. Zyra's world was beginning to spin from the lack of oxygen as she tried futilely to breathe. She felt her body go limp before collapsing against the floor. Stars were spinning in front of her eyes. She felt Mia kick her in the stomach repeatedly leaving new bruises. Mia was the queen bee and all of her friends were sheep. They always spat at Zyra or insulted her. They left the abuse for Mia to inflict as she enjoyed it deeply. Zyra didn't know why Mia hate her so fiercely. She couldn't recall ever being mean to Mia. The only thing she knew was that the abuse had been going on for years. Zyra had just turned fifteen, she could recall the first time she met Mia was after moving to the new pack at the beginning of middle school.
Zyra's parents traveled a lot for work so they were almost never home. They had decided to move to a new pack in order for Zyra to be better cared for. Little did they know that that was not the case at all. She was treated cruelly by most of the pack. The black sheep if you will. She couldn't defend herself, she wasn't good at training. She just wasn't physically capable to keep up with everyone else. Mia finally left the bathroom after spitting at her as the bell signaled for homeroom to begin. She pushed herself to her feet after the stars finally dissipated. Slowly she walked to her homeroom, opening the door and being berated by the teacher for being late. She walked to her seat, stumbling over an outstretched foot that she hadn't seen to the delight of the other students who snickered at her misfortune. She waited impatiently for the end of the day running as fast as she could at the bell to try and avoid Mia. For once luck was on her side as she continued to run faster and faster, deciding not to take the bus home. She didn't want to deal with anymore torment for the day, it was already too much to bare. She was tired of being stuck here and more importantly of being unable to do anything about it. Determined to change her future she would have to work very hard to escape this hell. She decided as she ran that she would find a way to defend herself at any cost necessary.
