A Mysterious Stranger

Chapter 4: A Mysterious Stranger Rory returned to her apartment, her mind reeling from the revelation about her parents' past. She felt a sense of closure, but also a newfound curiosity about her family's history. As she began to research her father's side of the family, she received a mysterious package with no return address. Inside, she found an old photograph of a man who looked eerily like her father, but with a different name: Jack Thompson. The photo was dated 1943, and Rory wondered if this could be a long-lost relative. As she delved deeper into the mystery, she received a cryptic message from an unknown number: "Meet me at the old oak tree in Riverview Park at midnight. Come alone." Rory felt a shiver run down her spine. Who was this stranger, and what did they want with her? Despite her reservations, she decided to take a chance and meet them. As she approached the old oak tree, a figure emerged from the shadows. It was an elderly man with piercing blue eyes and a kind smile. "Who are you?" Rory asked, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'm someone who knew your father, Rory," he replied. "And I have a story to tell you, one that will change everything you thought you knew about your family."
