PROLOGUE
I kept running as fast as my 15 years old leg could carry me, adrenaline pumping through my vein, looking back occasionally to see if my attacker was still on my trail. I had left home earlier today after having a little argument with my dad. I have always been told that my anger would put me in trouble one day and they couldn’t be more right.  My attacker tackled me, cutting my thought off. He punched me in the face and though I know that I am younger and can never defeat him, I still tried my best to fight him, but before I knew it, I began to lose consciousness as I didn’t realize that he had already put the handkerchief filled with chloroform in my nose and before I could say Mark Zuckerberg, I was out like lightening. .  .  .  .   Few hours later or at least what I feel it is, I woke up from my d**g-induced sleep to find myself in a dim lit room. I quickly and quietly survey the room; I saw a table and a chair, and one other thing which caught my interest. I quietly adjust myself on the floor noticing I wasn’t tied which was surprising as all stories and movies I have read and seen respectively, the victim was always tied down. Now wondering if he was naturally dumb or he had a reason for leaving me untied. Well, his luck, because I just found a way out my eyes landing on the shining black g*n once more. I might be 15 but I do know what a g*n is used for as I’ve seen people use it a lot in movies and stories. Yeah I know its bad influence but. at least it will come in handy. I’m pretty sure my parents have alerted the cops of me missing, and that would help me in case I don’t get the g*n or worse if I lose my target. I sent a quick prayer to heaven before diving for the g*n and hiding it in my coat, and thanking God that I decided to bring a coat even though the weather is not all that cold. Few minutes later, I heard footsteps and I quickly pretended as if I were asleep. The foot walked in and I saw the silhouette of a man. The effing girl is still asleep. He muttered under his breathe. Well, I’m pretty sure it’s way passing her bedtime. He searched about a bit and I stilled, wondering if he had found out the g*n was missing. And boy was I right? I knew I was, as I heard him mutter some curse word under his breath saying how he was sure that he had left the g*n here. And immediately he turned around, I wasted no time in aiming the g*n at where my science teacher told me is where the heart is located or at least where I remember her saying it was located. My goodness, I really need to pay attention in class. Focus Mae, focus.     I told myself facing the man still muttering to himself. Immediately he turned, not expecting me to be awake or even pointing a g*n at him, I grinned at him, pull the trigger and ran for the door not waiting to see if he was dead or not, I just set my mind on getting home or the nearest police station. .   .   .   . Two years later, here I am pacing in the front desk of the Young offenders institution waiting for my dad to come pick me up. You might be wondering why I am in here, Well, today is my last day here as I have been here for two years. After running for two hours non-stop with fear that my kidnapper would come after me, I finally saw civilization and since I didn’t know where I was, I decided to ask a kind, who was willing to help passer-by (Note the sarcasm) where the nearest station was and he oh so non-skeptically directed me. After series of investigations, I was charged to court for murder and since I was a minor, I was put in juvenile prison for two years considering my age. During my years in the youth detention, I was allowed to attend school, a different school though and after the normal school hour, I and a couple other people are given extra lessons in social skills and anger management. That was how I spent my last two years. Now that I think of it, I really needed that anger management lesson because that was how I ended up here in the first place.   Mae Downs….. I heard my name being called.   Over here sir. I called.   Your dad is here.          Nervousness washed over me as I realize that I’d be coming out of here for the first time in two years. I walked over to my dad and I hugged him, silently apologizing for all I caused. My dad broke the hug stretching out his hands to me and I took his hand and together we walked out of there.
