Empath

We were scrambling to get my dress zipped up and my bra back on when my mom burst into the room. I was like a deer in headlights and Alex looked at my mom while still zipping my dress. My mom saw her zipping me up. Between that and the looks on our faces, she knew what we had been doing. She hollered for my dad.

"Honey, come here! Your daughter was being fondled by another woman!"

That triggered an immediate face palm on my part. I was just so embarrassed.

"Mom, I can't even, with you."

She arched one brow as if to warn me of my tone and slowly stepped closer to me. That's when she used her mom voice. Chilling.

"Selena Rose Jackson! What were you thinking? Just coming upstairs to hump some girl?"

I rolled my eyes, "Mom, she isn't just some girl-"

" I know, she's your mate. Your dad told me. Anyways, do you remember how I used to tell you that there were some ancient wolves who were about to use empathy or empathic abilities to help others?"

"Yeah, but what does that have to do with the current situation?"

"It doesn't. We'll revisit that. I think you may be one of the crystal wolves because when you were in here doing Goddess knows what, you transfered a thought to me."

I gulped and grabbed Alex's hand. By this point, my dad, his Beta and Alex's Beta were all gathering in the room. I look behind me and see Alex mind linking her Beta. I intercept the mind link and I shouldn't be able to.

S:Alexandria...

A:How did you do that? You shouldn't be able to.

S:My mom says I'm an empath.

The mind link is cut short by the excruciating pain coming from Goddess knows where. I dropped to my knees at it felt like someone was drilling holes in my head. I heard Crystal howling and I let her take control. I felt every bone in my body reshape and my skull elongate for a snout. I felt fur grow from my skin and Crystal ran out the door to chase and track whatever was hurting me. At least, I couldn't feel the drilling anymore.

ALEXANDRIA'S POV

Selena fell to her knees in pain and even when I touched her she didn't feel better. Then, her head lifted and crystal blue eyes glowed brightly. She shifted and ran. I immediately shifted and followed her. Sapphire grabbed both of our dresses and ran after Crystal. We heard Liam's wolf, Xavier, howl and chase after us. After chasing Crystal for what felt like hours, Sapphire started to get tired and lost Crystal behind some trees. She heard a whimper come from that direction and growled lowly.

When Sapphire came up to Crystal, she had already shifted back into Selena. So, I shifted back to get dressed and help Selena get dressed. After slipping my dress back on, I looked down at the body of my mate and saw a stab wound on her arm. Someone tried to harm her. I bent down and slipped her dress on her unconscious body. Then, I picked her up and started carrying her out of the woods.

Liam walked up to me, wearing his suit pants and no shirt or shoes. He asked if I wanted him to carry Selena because I looked tired. I said no and kept going bare feet and all.

By the time we got back to the pack house, everyone was on alarm and the party had come to an end. Luna Elise met me outside and tried to take Selena out of my hands because she could see the exhaustion in my face. I just tightened my grip on my mate and started walking towards their pack hospital. I collapsed with Selena in my hands and everything went dark.

I sat up straight in bed. How did I get here? Where is here? I asked myself those questions over and over for about five minutes. Then, I remembered that I had passed out on the way to the pack hospital. Selena! I had to find her. I ripped the IV out of my arm and took off the pressure cuff. I left my hospital room and followed the scent of my mate. It was faint, but I smelled the familiar spring day and apple pie.

I opened the door to Selena's room and saw her laying on her bed, still unconscious. I laid down beside her and kisses her head. I felt her shift next to me and turned to snuggle her face between my boobs. I heard her moan and giggle.

"Sweetheart, are you enjoying putting your face in my boobs?" She kisses the side of my right boob and then stretches to kiss my lips with a smile.

"Oh, I absolutely enjoy cuddling with you and shoving my face in your chest. You're so gorgeous."

She starts pulling at my hospital gown with a hungry look in her eyes when the doctor comes in.

*gasps*"Dr. Hale, we were just having some fun." She says with an innocent smile.

He rolls his eyes and checks her vitals.

"Alpha Alexandria, you're supposed to be in your own room. Why did you rip out your IV?"

"Because she's stubborn as all get out." I heard Liam say as he entered and nodded to his future Luna.

"Oh, I forgot to tell you what happened. Liam and the others know, but you were out of it for longer than I was. When I shifted, Crystal was chasing the fowl scent of our mental attacker. The only thing we found was a rogue who had already shifted back into his human form and he stabbed me. Judging from the fact that he shifted back and stabbed me, they need me alive. I think there is a witch using dark magic that works with the rogues."

I growl low in my chest. She grabs my hand to center me and smiles up at me.

"Thank you for going after me and carrying me out of those woods on bare feet even though you were exhausted and bleeding."

"Of course, love. I would die for you."

She hopped up off the bed and began taking out the IV and taking off the pressure cuff. I looked at he questioningly.

"What are you doing?"

She just smiled.

"We're leaving for your pack. They have many more warriors and I'd like to meet the people that will soon be my pack too."

After a few hours of packing, and a couple showers to wash the grime, we were ready to go. She said her goodbyes and climbed in the car with me. We rode in the back while Liam drove. We're practically royalty after all.
