THE ALPHA COMMAND WORKED where Luke’s had failed. Female and overwhelming, it flattened Kace to the ground.
“Go change,” the newcomer continued. “Try to remember you’re more than an animal.”
And Arthur’s daughter skedaddled like a pup receiving a reprimand.
“You didn’t tell me your betrothed was an alpha,” I sent down the mate bond while snatching up my sword and taking in the twenty-something woman leaning against the side of her caravan. Unlike Kace, Fiona wore filmy scarves and skirts that blended in perfectly with her photogenic residence. The glint in her eyes, however, was full-on wolf.
“She wasn’t an alpha,” Luke answered, “when I knew her.”
