“DESTINY COULD HAVE wriggled out through the trap door I built in the floor, of course,” Kace informed us from the back seat. “You don’t really think I’d let myself be locked in my room?”
“Now that I’ve met you,” I admitted, “no, I don’t.”
Luke chuckled under his breath, but then his hand clenched down on mine. “Kace. Get in the trunk.”
The flare of her temper filled the car with spicy pepper. “Didn’t I just say I don’t let myself get locked into places?”
“Now,” Luke grated out, all alpha wolf protecting those smaller than himself.
