Revealing Secrets

The mysterious girl kept walking with Lilith and Jared until they found a little clear surrounded by tall trees. Just when they were in the centre of the place she let go of Lilith’s arm. She walked to Jared and hooked her arm with his. He made her feel safe.

-          Who are you? – Said Lilith looking to the mysterious girl – why did you brought us here?

She was looking at the girl with a mixture of fear and respect even if her magical pin told her that the girl was not an enemy. Jared laughed softly to Lilith’s disgust but before she could act he spoke.

-          Relax my love, I am incredibly surprised too but I think I understand the situation. Lilith, let me introduce you to Marie Rice, my half sister.

-          Your... half... sister... how is it possible? – Lilith said with surprise in her voice – for some reason she is quite familiar to me, but I cannot place her.

-          Hey that I am here! – Said Marie with a falsely annoyed voice – of course I am familiar to you Lilith, we have met before.

-          Have we?... Joseph called you, Ode... – just then she realised who Marie really was – oh dear! How could I be so blind! Odette! I am so happy to see you!

Lilith hugged Marie once she realised her ethereal friend being the one inside that moral body; she could not believe it.

Jared smiled softly at the two women hugging in front of him, it was amazing how they had met but even more the way those women from different centuries could be so alike, and be loved by the same man in very different ways. The girls laughing made him return to reality.

-          Told you – said Marie – see what I mean?

-          Of course I do! Now I completely understand – said Lilith with a wicked smile on her face.

Jared sighed. Now that those two had met, something told him that for him it would be a little harder to manage reality, after all, Marie knew him really well and almost all of his secrets. But even with that, he could not avoid feeling incredibly happy to see them so actively happy.

The rest of the night was a complete party while Lilith and Marie got to know each other deeply which also meant that Marie told Lilith a few embarrassing secrets from Jared. He got mad at his half sister when she told Lilith between laughs how had he acted after the first time they met. He had to admit that it was hilarious the way she told the story but at the same time he felt annoyed about it.

-          You should have seen him! – said Marie – he looked like an i***t every time he thought about his “sweet lady”. It was hilarious!

Lilith could not avoid laughing hard at the story but at the same time her heart filled with warm and joy. It made her happy knowing that Jared had felt the same way she had after their first meeting, and even more after finding his gift for her.

Between laughs and stories time went by incredibly fast, until it was nearly midnight. Lilith suddenly felt an imminent danger, it was a new moon night with a full black sky, but still she felt the danger of being chased; she looked up and then she noticed. There was a star. Not as big as to stand out but enough to not be confused as any other, the dangerous feeling came from it. Marie and Jared also looked up to see why she has suddenly gotten quiet and paralysed. Marie knew the reason at the moment.

-          Oh dear... – she took Lilith by the arm and began moving – Come on! Run!

Lilith could not understand what was happening but the urge in her voice plus the feeling of danger made her follow her friend without making any questions. Jared followed them.

They ran until the dorms were reached, that old building in which Lilith had been sleeping for a long time now. They went in and reached Lilith’s room, that had a mayor change. There were two beds there instead of one, apparently she was getting a roommate now; who could it be? She thought about asking the leader but her question was answered before she could even say a word.

-          We are roommates! – Said Marie completely excited – hope you do not mind, I wanted to be with...

-          We are roommates! – said Lilith completely excited as well – it will be great!

Jared could only smile to those crazy females which made his life better I completely different ways. One his half-sister which he had been told about but never found until he visited Lady Lucy for the first time, the other, sent by the destinies to him while running away from her mother’s domain. It might have not been the best way to meet, but he would be incredibly grateful his whole life for that situation. His thoughts went by that road until Lilith voice brought him back.

-          You were so right Marie! He is not even paying attention to us... again – said Lilith looking at him with mischief in her eyes.

-          What?... sorry my Ladies I was just...

-          Yes, yes we know Jared – said Marie – but right now I think you will have to pay a little attention. Remember someone was waching us outside?... well, I am concerned about it, especially because I think I know who she is.

-          And who could it be this mysterious night watcher? – said Jared a little irony

-          Joseph’s stepsister. Odile.

Silence fell into the room as if suddenly someone had exhaled its last breath. Odile? Could it be possible? Well, Odette was there and is part of the legend, but Odile? Of course, it was possible and it would explain a lot about how Lilith was observed every single second but still, he could not believe it.

The next hour they discussed about possibilities and details about the legend and Odile’s fate after her death. All the theories were possible but very unlikely so, they would have to investigate deeper about it. They were all speaking when someone knocked on their door strongly. The Dorm Leader.

-          What on earth are you doing in there?! Is already midnight!

Marie hurried to open the door.

-          We are so sorry Amanda, we did not know it was that late, I promise we will keep it down – said Marie with regret in her voice.

-          You should be! And what is he doing here! This is a women dorm! What were you thinking?! Do you...

-          Oh, Jared. He is my half brother.

-          Really? Do you think I am stupid? What were your...

-          Amanda please, he is my half brother, we were just talking about a group work Venom sent us and she wants it for tomorrow to check!

At the mention of Vanessa Venom, the dorm leader went pale as a ghost, she had one class with that infamous woman and it was enough for her to be terrified at the mention of her name.

-          From that woman I expect anything! I will forget he is here, but next time give me a heads up. – Amanda said while walking away.

The three of them sighed in relief. Amanda would not make any fuss about Jared being there but they indeed had an awful work to do. But first things first.

-          How are going to deal with Joseph and apparently his half sister?  - asked Lilith without feeling too convinced about a solution.

-          Well, about Odile, there is not much we can do, unless we find out about what actually happened to her, about Joseph, my best bet would be staying away from him as much as we can. – said Marie after thinking for a few seconds.

-          Marie is right Lilith, better staying away from those two, at least until we have the information we need to act properly.

-          Yes, you are right, better leaving it that way. So now the second important thing, how are we doing that nonsense work?

The rest of the night was a t*****e for them, they worked until all of them died of tiredness and ended up unconscious on the floor where they had been working. Fortunately, none of them had classes at 7 am. At least that is what they thought.

Jared woke up at the sound of a phone ringing. He had like 20 loose calls. What was going on? Lilith woke up too and had 12 emails and about 32 missed calls from Martha. Something was wrong.

The phone ringing had just stopped when Lilith’s began ringing for 33rd time. She answered.

-          Lilith! Oh my god, finally...

-          Martha? What is it? Why are you so desperate?

-          The work from today resulted to be at 7 am! Venom gave us till 9h30 and it is already 9h15, hurry up!

-          Oh dear! Thank you Martha! I owe you one, where is Venom?

-          In her office, hurry up!

With that, the call was finished.

Lilith had gone white and Jared looked at her with worry in his eyes, something was wrong, and he could guess it has something to do with her mother. And it was very delicate.

Lilith went back to her senses and hurried to make Marie wake up. She shook her until her friend opened her eyes.

-          Lilith... what is going on? Why did you... – said Marie still half asleep.

-          b****y hell Marie! Wake up!... that work must be presented maximum at 9h30 and it is 9h18...

That made the trick and made Marie wake up completely and stand up as if the floor had burnt her. Jared reacted too by picking everything off the floor and going to the door, the three of them ran through the campus as mad persons until reaching their teacher’s office at 9h29. They made it.

-          Well, well... you are not as useless as I thought, you are just on time.

They gave the work to Vanessa while trying to breath, she received it but her latest comment worried them.

-          This presentation could not be worst...

That week was a nightmare for every student in Lilith’s classroom; work was sent to them every single day, which meant that they could not actually talk about Odette, Odile nor nothing, with luck they all were able to eat. Moreover, the rest of the month was not looking better.
