Meeting darkness

All the first part of the semester had been a nightmare for all of them, especially for Lilith who had not had time to share with Jared and when she did, it was just to work on university issues. Their life had turned into s*****y, fortunately, that class which had just ended had been the last one before the recess of 2 weeks.

Lilith felt so relieved that for once she did not need to run back to her dorm to make some homework or because she was too tired as to do something else. She began walking back to her dorm when a very well-known hand touched her back softly, it was Jared. She looked back, to find his golden hazel eyes looking at her with love as pure as crystal, and a soft smile on his lips, she could not hold back and smiled back at him just before kissing his lips softly as a feather touching his skin. The locked their eyes on one another, and read the love deep inside their souls, and how they were destined to meet and to share their lives and immortality once they met on the other side. Their energy turned to an intensity most people could not even try to understand, because as they already knew, real love was so weird in that moment that once it appear it was impossible to survive it; even if they had survived mostly without each other for more than a month by that moment.

-          Your eyes shine as diamonds out of the most beautiful crystal sea. – Said Jared in admiration – I have been missing that sight in this time we could not meet.

Lilith sighed at Jared´s words, he was such a lovely man, and he always took care of her, and knew exactly what to say in those moments. She was hypnotised by his eyes too; they looked like melted gold, which made her heart and soul feel warm and protected. He had that effect on her.

-          My beloved Lady, may I ask you to come with me on a short walk? -  He asked with hope in his voice – I know it has been a long time and a lot of work these past weeks, but if you agreed, I would be the happiest man in the entire world.

-          Of course, my dearest, I would go with you to the end of the world and back – said Lilith with love in her voice, she felt safe with him, and even if it sounded weird even for her, what she said had been true – Just show me the way.

Jared, presented his hand to her, and just the moment she took it, he began walking towards a small forest that separated the faculty from the rest of the world, he took her through the trees, while kissing her occasionally. After what seemed to be too soon, Jared pulled her out of the small road that marked the way, and headed to a place she had never been before. They walked for abut ten more minutes between trees, love words and kisses; without Lilith noticing, they arrived to a lovely place in the middle of the forest. The sky was completely clear; the grass as soft as cotton, and Jared was there at her side looking while she marvelled in the beauty of the place. He took her to the middle of the place they were in and looked at her in the eyes keeping the silence just for a little more time.

Lilith could feel he was nervous for some reason, but it did not faded his beauty nor his soul. He was the same man she met, but at the same time he was different, stronger and more decided to do what he was about to do for what she was able to read in his energy and the way he was looking at her.

The night was not cold, and the sky was a deep dark blue with stars shinning there; the only cloud was there, where the moon normally appeared, but as they both knew, Davin, or Vanessa as she made herself be called now, was not there, so they could for once be safe and enjoy the company of each other under a wonderful night sky, and the perfect landscape for them to be together. Jared took both her hands, looked at Lilith´s eyes just before looking up in the sky.

-          My lovely Lady, the owner of my heart and soul. I know our time together has not been as long as it could have, and that maybe I should not say this so fast, but my heart is so full that I cannot hold back my feelings anymore – Said Jared, looking back at her eyes, he continued – my heart beats for you and my soul jumps of joy every time I see you or simply feel your presence; it is impossible for me to keep holding my love for you inside of me as an obvious secret form the world.

-          Jared, my dearest heart and soul, you know I loved you from the first time you showed me your eyes. Moreover, that had not changed; it has only gotten stronger and stronger with every single passing second. My love for you has grown to the point I cannot hold it back either.

-          I know my love. That is why I brought you here in this wonderful night, to make my love for you official in a way no-one will be ever able to break, nor push us apart. My heart, soul, mind and body belongs to you, and no matter how close or far apart we are, I will always be with you…

-          And I with you my love, no matter where we are, nor if together or not, my heart will be with you as well as part of my soul.

Lilith did not know how she knew the proper way to answer, but deep inside of her, those words do not only felt right, but completely honest. The man in front of her had stolen her heart and soul, and no matter what happened to them, he will always have her heart and soul with him. Even if they never saw each other again.

-          Lilith Raven Schneider – Said Jared with a deep serious voice – Would you be my companion, soul mate and other half for the rest of the eternity?

-          Yes, my dear. I accept you as my life partner, soul mate and other half for the rest of my eternity; as long as you accept me as yours.

-          I do my beloved Lady, and you can be assured that no force exiting would be able to keep our souls apart now that we have expressed our love to each other.

A sudden sound began involving them from inside out; it was a chant. A chant full of love, good wishes and happiness.

verborum quae locutus est

vera sunt revelata

alligant animas suas amanti

amor lucis honore

nocte videmus iacientes

probant enim ex amore deos

et claude vinculum tuum usque in sempiternum

quod clamat habere cor et longis auidum saturasset

It repeated once and again until seven times were said. At the last word of the seventh time of the chant, Jared took Lilith in his arms and kissed her and a sealing of their love promise, and got tangled in a non-ending hug which could have been held for all eternity to come, but there was one being there which had not agreed to what they had done. A person they never noticed had been watching them from above in the sky.

The full moon had been watching them the whole time, and now it was the time for her to take her chance and move her piece. She smiled a wicked simle and made herself present.

The beauty of the moment was suddenly interrupted by the sound of clapping.

Clap. Clap. Clap. Clap.

-          Well, well… what a lovely moment you are experiencing children. Joining your lives and souls to the love you are feeling; isn´t it nice? – Said an ice-cold voice – you should indeed pay more attention to your surroundings next time.

Lilith recognised that voice at once, it had accompanied her since she could remember; it had made her cry, almost die more than once, and even better, it was the voice she had heard just about an hour before. In classes. She looked back and forth looking for the origin of those words, but she was not able to locate the person speaking. Somethign was wrong.

She looked back at Jared who was as astonished as she was. His face was illuminated by moon light as if there was a full moon night, but it was impossible. Her mother had been mortal just about an hour ago. Hasn’t she? Just then, she dared looking up. It was indeed a full moon night.

Lilith went paler than normal at realizing the fact. How could she had been so unconscious and reckless? She had put Jared in danger as well as herself, she had been so convinced that her mother would stay in human form that never consider the possibility that she might be look at them from the sky. How could she forget something as important as that? The voice was coming from that wonderful sky.

-          Oh, you stupid child – said that cold voice without a single drop of care – you really thought I left just because I was in human form. For bloods sake! You are more stupid than I thought possible! How is it possible that you are mi child indeed?

-          M… M… Mother… please, I have done nothing to earn your hate, nevertheless you reject me…

-          Oh my dear! You really thought I would love and protect you just because you were born from me. Please child, do not make me laugh, that is a human thing. But yes, I will answer to your question, of course you deserve my hate, you exist against my will, why wouldn’t I hate you? You father was an i***t, and I was vulnerable so I fell for him. Stupid me, stupid i***t that thought that deserved me and even better, stupid me that thought he might be worth the effort obviously he was not.

-          But mother…

-          But nothing, now you know and you must pay for that knowledge.

-          No! – Jared screamed – she owes you nothing!

-          Awww, so sweet. The lover to rescue, which is even better.

A hard white light filled the sky and then the forest. In front of them appeared a wonderful woman. She was full silver and ethereal that they both thought it had to be a dream. Such a wonderful creature could not exist, at least not for mortal eyes. That was the real Davin, the real Vanessa Venom. The moon goddess.

She was completely made out of melted silver and light so pure, that no one would be able to see her directly, and her long hair floated around her head as the most delicate silver strings, which could have ever existed. Her dress looked like the most ethereal silk dancing around her body. However, the feature that caught their attention was her eyes. Those wonderful pieces of perfectly cut diamonds filled with hate and resentment. Nevertheless, deep inside with a shattered heart which could not be fixed and never would be joined again. Lilith saw that pain behind her mother´s hate and began walking near her slowly; step after step. Lilith´s heart filled with fear, amazement and realisation at the same time; her mother was not evil by chance or just because, she had been turned into what she was now and she knew deep inside her heart that if the moon left her, she would be able to help her heal that deep pain she hid inside.

Jared was talking her out of it, he wanted her to step back and stay away from the goddess, but even his pleas did not make her turn back.

-          Lilith, my love, please… please stop… come back to me. I cannot get near the moon by rules but please, look back at me and return to my embrace. Do not let yourself be charmed by what you see, you know the woman in front of you; she is the one who wants you dead, she is the one that turned you to the man that wants to possess you only to destroy you. She is the one who makes your life unbearable since you can remember.

Lilith was not listening. She had been hypnotised by the sadness inside her mother´s eyes.

She kept walking towards the silver woman until she could reach her hand with hers; Lilith was about to touch her mother when a small drop-shaped diamond hit the surface of her hand. It was a tear from the moon. Davin had seen and felt what her daughter was trying to do and felt too vulnerable to the point of letting a tear run down her eye, but the moment her child was going to touch her hand she returned to her evil shielded self. Davin lookd at Lilith in the eye.

-          Oh poor child, you saw through my shields. You are skilled but not too intelligent. You can do nothing, but obey.

With that, she took Lilith by the wrist and a silver rope appeared there where her hand has been. Just then, she realized what she had done, she had given herself to her mother, just the person she had been running away for 20 years. She looked back at Jared. He had desperation in his eyes, but something hard was holding him in place, a dark shadow was surrounding him. Then an unexpected glass-shattered voice went into the scene too.

-          Oh, what a wonderful sight! – said joseph coming out of the shadows - the disrespectful b***h tied with an unbreakable chain, the i***t lover desperate in place…

-          Oh, Joseph! I did not expect you here so fast, but now that you are here… - Davin threw the silver chain to him – there, isn’t it that what you wanted? Well, there you have her. Do as you please with her.

Looking back at Jared, Davin smiled wickedly.

-          Well, now you can say you will know what actual pain and lose means. Enjoy the suffering, I will indeed enjoy watching it – Looking at the shadow Davin said – My beloved O, leave the child free in a few seconds all this will be over and we will be able to go back.

The shadow left Jared go and joined Davin, until she commanded her to go back to the sky as the shiniest star.

-          Joseph, be my guest and do as you please with the useless child you have there, I know you will get very creative ways to make her obey.

-          No! – Screamed Lilith – you i***t will not touch me! You will never…

Joseph tied the chain around her neck and pressed until she had no enough air to breath, much less to speak.

-          No one asked your opinion little w***e. Now you belong to me!

-          Joseph, please… just do not do it too fast, where is the fun in that!

-          Indeed my Lady, I will do as you command.

Joseph bowed to the goddess in front of him and with his feet opened the ground. From down there, screams, moans and please of release could be heard. There it was, the final step for them both, the underworld.

-          Well, I would said it has been a pleasure, but it has not yet begun. So, enjoy your life of emptiness and suffering my dear enemy. I for sure will.

With that, the light of the moon disappeared as Joseph jumped into the darkness of the ground. And with him, his soul mate. His beloved. His heart and soul. He took Lilith with him.
