Thy Darkness Within

Episode 14

 Jay had arrived before Caleb’s home. He began knocking on the door but received no response his smile disappeared as he began shouting for Caleb to come down and open the door, the thoughts of smashing the door in and barging in surfaced in his head but disappeared as quickly as it appeared.

Jay could remember what had happened at Kennedy’s home, he couldn’t barge in even if he wanted to “ARGH!” Jay let out a frustrated scream before speeding away just before Roselyn drove in.

The thoughts of the event that just occurred running around in her head as she entered her home, “Caleb I’m home” she called as she placed her stuff in the couch. Roselyn called out once more when she received no response “Caleb are you there?” becoming even more worried when she received no response from her son, she rushed up stairs only to see Caleb coming down taking his air pods out.

“Sorry mom I had my air pods in I couldn’t hear you.”  She released a sigh of relief when she saw Caleb was okay, “you had me worried there for a moment “, “sorry mom”, “it’s alright I was just checking up on you” she turned going back down.

Caleb heaved a sigh of relief when his mom was gone, she hadn’t doubted him at all, turning back he realized something new; that is when one was in the room, they couldn’t hear anything outside the room. Caleb had spent almost all his time in there going through his mom’s grimoire as well as the countless books in there and he had to admit that he was in love with magic. Caleb couldn’t wait to prove to John the next day that he was telling the truth.

In a certain bar; Jay walked in with a scowl on his face pissed he couldn’t find Caleb and question him and even worse his hunger was getting worse. “Jay?” turning around Jay came face to face with Kennedy, “Kennedy…” Jay was stunned to see her, his scowl disappearing almost instantly “what…what are you doing here.” “if I remember correctly this is my favorite bar and I’m here almost every night.” “right.” Jay responded remembering this detail he had forgotten.

“Jay…are you okay?” Kennedy finally asked what was on her mind. “yeah, definitely, why wouldn’t I be,” Jay lied wearing a smile but Kennedy knew him too well to fall for it, “be honest with me Jay what is going on, you disappeared that night, then you didn’t show up at school, then last night you just took of I have been calling you all day so what is going on Jay!” her little rant drawing the attention of the people in the bar, seeing this Jay took her hand and brought her out into an alley.

“Kennedy…” Jay started but was cut of by Kennedy, “no Jay, no lies tell me what is actually going on” “I want to…” Jay tried to placate her. “then tell me,” “I can’t” tears began building up in Kennedy’s eyes “why can’t you?” “I…” “Tell me Jay what the hell is…” “Just stop!”

Jay shouted and all was silent, looking into her eyes Jay realized that she was in some sort of daze “what the hell…”

Back at the boys’ home.

Holly had arrived to check up on the boys opening the door she began calling for them, “John, Jay are you-oh my gosh John are you alright?” seeing John lying on the floor she rushed to him checking if he was still alive.

John awoke but was shocked as to where he was; John was back in the woods, he began looking around for a way out when he arrived before a cave. John felt a strange attraction from the cave and against his better judgement he went into the cave, in the cave he came across a bizarre sight. The were seven people surrounding a stone gate which gave of a sinister aura, countless horrifying images were engraved on the stone gate. Suddenly all seven guys turned to face him, John noticed something.

Each and every one of the seven had pitch black, eyes that resembled an abyss. Facing their stares John began walking back when he bumped into something and heard them, he could hear the growls turning around he was face to face with the monster from his dreams except this time it was standing on it’s hind legs and was now even more bizarre resembling neither man nor wolf.

The beast pounced straight at him before he could react…

John groaned as he got up, Holly was happy seeing this “I’m going to kill him” John spoke as he pinched the bridge of his nose. “wait what? John where is Jay.” “right here” a voice came from the kitchen.

Looking up they saw Jay who was holding a glass of alcohol which he raised to acknowledge them. John was having none of it as he eyes took a golden glow grew claws and jumped taking down Jay. The two brothers began to go against one another with John attacking as though a beast. They exchanged attacks with Holly trying her best to stop the two from killing one another.

“OKAY THAT’S ENOUGH!” Holly shouted standing between them both finally causing them both of them to come to a halt John looked at Holly before taking another look at Jay then turning and leaving for his room in a huff. Holly turned to Jay who was standing there with a smirk on his face, “why did you do that?” “ I wanted to go out, he was in the way.” Jay spoke as he poured another glass for himself, “but enough about me…let’s talk about you, what are you after?” Jay appeared staring right into Holly’s eyes. “Holly was dazed for a moment with her eyes losing focus she opened her mouth “I…” then she regained focus blinking a few times “what do you mean?”

“Huh that’s interesting”, Jay was stunned that she snapped out of it but now he was more certain there was something going on with this girl.
