Chapter 15

PREVIOUSLY

Holly had arrived to check up on the boys opening the door she began calling for them, “John, Jay are you-oh my gosh John are you alright?” seeing John lying on the floor she rushed to him checking if he was still alive.

“Jay…are you okay?” Kennedy finally asked what was on her mind. “yeah, definitely, why wouldn’t I be,” Jay lied wearing a smile but Kennedy knew him too well to fall for it, “be honest with me Jay what is going on, you disappeared that night, then you didn’t show up at school, then last night you just took of…

“Kennedy…” Jay started but was cut of by Kennedy, “no Jay, no lies tell me what is actually going on” “I want to…” Jay tried to placate her. “then tell me,” “I can’t” tears began building up in Kennedy’s eyes “why can’t you?” “I…” “Tell me Jay what the hell is…” “Just stop!”

Jay shouted and all was silent, looking into her eyes Jay realized that she was in some sort of daze “what the hell…”

“ I wanted to go out, he was in the way.” Jay spoke as he poured another glass for himself, “but enough about me…let’s talk about you, what are you after?” Jay appeared staring right into Holly’s eyes. “Holly was dazed for a moment with her eyes losing focus she opened her mouth “I…” then she regained focus blinking a few times “what do you mean?”

“Huh that’s interesting”, Jay was stunned that she snapped out of it but now he was more certain there was something going on with this girl.

Now

*groan* John groaned as he made his way down stairs, he hadn’t had a good sleep as the beast from his nightmares kept appearing over and over again. A delicious scent wafted out of the kitchen causing John to head over curious as to who was in there.

“well top of the morning to you brother”, Jay spoke immediately John entered the kitchen. “Jay” John saw his brother before the stove making breakfast a sight he wasn’t expecting, “now, now, the way you said my name makes it seem as though your displeased to see me… and after I went through the trouble to do all this.” 

“why are you doing this?” “well think of this, as a… apology of sorts for you know…” Jay proceeds to make a motion of snapping someone’s neck whilst making a cracking sound with his mouth. “…and from the look of the face I’ll say I’m yet to be forgiven.” John ignores him and turns t leave but as he does the scent from the bacon went through his nostrils and unable to resist the temptation, he grabbed a plate of bacon for himself.

“your welcome!” Jay called after his brother who was gone with the plate of Bacon, John stepped out to see that Holly’s car was packed outside apparently waiting to send him to school. Holly started at the plate full of Bacon as he sat by her, “looks like someone’s hungry, what about Jay isn’t he coming?” “unless he wants to turn to ash then no”

“right sorry I forgot.”

With those words Holly began the drive to school.

A few minutes after the duo left the was a knock at the door, Jay opened the door with a smirk on his face once he saw who it was. “well I’ll be, it worked” before Jay was none other than Kennedy.

At SCHOOL.

John was having a… less than stellar day, with Jay missing Chad had come over once more and to recover his reputation which he had lost gave John a beating alongside his g**g, Caleb was also acting weird and distancing himself always with some sort of book at hand.

John wasn’t sure what it was but he was just irritable that day and Chad and the g**g were not making it any better, he knew he could easily take them out but he couldn’t, just as John thought his day couldn’t get any worse… he had a class with Mr. Child next.

Holly was paying close attention to John the entire day and although she hadn’t known him all that long she could tell something was wrong. He was extremely irritable as though he would snap at any given moment. Holly wasn’t sure what was going on but she was willing to bet that what ever it was, it was sure to have something t do with the supernatural.

Class had begun and in a few minutes John was targeted by Mr. Child who asked question after question. John was chewed out by Mr. Child who was sparing no punches, keeping a close eye on John Holly saw his expression and she was certain if eyes could kill Mr. Child would be six feet under, at that moment everyone else was just enjoying the whole show and mocking John, and to add insult to injury; John was given a half hours detention which just caused John to storm out with Mr. Child shouting “an hour of detention!” after him.

Class was over and Holly rushed out to look for John, after a few minutes she finally came before John who was putting his stuff in his locker. “John, you okay?” “I’m fine” “if you need anything…” she tried to comfort him but was cut off by John “I said I’m okay alright okay now back off!” John slammed his locker and left, turning back to the locker there was now a noticeable dent in it.

Jay sat in the couch with a book at hand but just as he was about to start reading he heard someone at the door and hid the book as he headed out to open the door. “hey…” Jay began but Holly just walked right by him into the  house, “well come right in why don’t you” “something’s going on with John…” she got right to the point “right cause I totally did not notice the glowing eyes claws and sharp teeth.” Jay responded sarcastically “I’m serious Jay”.

“And so am I… fine I’ll bite what’s wrong with brother dearest.”
