“We started with 73 players. We’re already down to 35,” Jenny said. Best I could tell, she’d crouched low on the mound just above my little den. “Did Riever’s dad say what constitutes winning these trials? Do you have to last until the very end, or…?”
“I think I have to get something like 750 points across all three games,” I whispered. “And I’m not sure about the point systems in the other games, so it’s better if I get as many as I can now.”
“Yeah,” Jenny said. “Good point.”
“Can you stop talking to me?” I asked, “Not to be rude, but you’re going to give me away.”
