Riever POV I’d texted Miya when I got home. I was a bit out of it during the drive back- my adrenaline was pumping at first, but while it died down, I was left with the sinking realization that I had taken a life for the first time. I was struck by the way I didn’t feel much about it. I had thought killing someone would feel… heavier. Yet, I felt remorseless.
