Miya POV The hardest part about Friday’s party was hiding what had happened from my parents. Bradley and Jenny had been kind to me afterwards- the kind of kind that is sickly sweet, and obviously forced. The ride was quiet and awkward, and they had allowed me to stop off at a truck station, where I paid $2.55 for a shower at the gas station and bought soaps and shampoo to scrub the smell of blood off of me. Jenny waited in the bathroom with me, guarding against other wolves. “Is that… what you smell like?” she asked. It was more than she’d said to me since we got in the jeep.
