Rejected. Humiliated. Abandoned. Jane Biller thought her mate would love her, but Alpha Richard Brown only saw weakness. Cast out from her pack, she flees to MoonStone Pack, where she discovers a strength she never knew she had. As she rises from the ashes, Richard realizes his mistake—but Jane is no longer the girl he left behind. When fate forces them back together, will she accept his redemption, or will she carve her own path as the Luna who didn’t need a mate to define her?

This is a tale of redemption, empowerment, and second chances. Jane’s journey is not just about finding love but about proving that self-worth doesn’t come from a mate—it comes from within.

Chapter 1
Jane The sundress laid waiting in my closet for a month, lovingly crafted by my mother's hands. Each stitch perfect, the fabric a cascade of vibrant colors that felt like liquid silk against my skin. I saved it for today—a day unlike any other. Standing before the mirror now, I watch the dress settle around me like a gentle breeze, fitting as if it were made from my very measurements. A twirl sends the hem dancing, my auburn ponytail following suit, while my new sandals—mother's market find—complete the picture. My reflection shows everything I hoped for, yet anxiety coils in my stomach like a restless snake. Tonight should be magical—the moment I meet my destined mate—but fear threatens to eclipse the joy. The mating ball awaits, a grand gathering where alphas from neighboring packs converge in search of their fated partners. This annual celebration has lived in my dreams for years, and now it's finally my turn. My father's position as beta of the Red Moon Pack casts a long shadow over my life. Being his only daughter sounds like a blessing, but it's been more of a curse. The expectations weigh heavier than any crown. I'm different from the others—a werewolf who's never shifted. The pack's cruel whispers follow me like ghosts, their mockery a constant companion. Even my father's status can't shield me from being an outcast. Loneliness has been my closest friend. My father's eyes hold only shame when he looks at me, his 18-year-old failure. He wanted a powerful heir to carry on his legacy, not a daughter who can't even summon her wolf. But tonight, perhaps, everything changes when I find my mate. For as long as I can remember, I have dreamed of meeting him. I cling to the hope that our bond will awaken my dormant wolf when he claims me. Though there is no certainty, I hold onto this belief tightly. My mother, my constant source of love and encouragement, has always reassured me that my mate will accept me for who I am, flaws and all. I have endured enough ridicule to last a lifetime—I need someone who will cherish me. I trust that the kind-hearted Moon Goddess will grant me this wish. The pack has spared no effort in preparing for tonight’s festivities. She-wolves don their finest gowns, their faces adorned with expertly applied makeup as they chatter and giggle with anticipation. I, however, have neither an elaborate dress nor makeup, yet my sundress is enough. My only wish is to find my mate. A knock at my door pulls me from my thoughts. "Jane," my mother calls gently. "Are you ready?" "Yes, Mother. I'm coming." I hurry to open the door. She stands before me, elegantly dressed, her gaze settling on my attire. A soft smile plays on her lips—a flicker of pride in her expression. "Why aren’t you downstairs yet?" she asks. "I just need to fix my hair," I say hastily, nerves creeping in again. Sensing my unease, she cups my face gently. "Jane, are you alright? You seem worried." "I’m fine, Mom. Just—" How can I admit that I’m scared? "Aren’t you excited to finally meet your mate today?" "Of course, I am," I force a smile. "I’m the luckiest girl alive. I just hope the Moon Goddess blesses me." "She will, sweetheart," my mother reassures me. "Your destined mate will love and cherish you." Her unwavering confidence soothes my nerves, rekindling my optimism. "Thank you, Mother." I wrap my arms around her in a quick embrace. "Now, finish getting ready. You don’t want to miss the celebration. I’ll be waiting downstairs—don’t take too long." I nod, watching her leave before turning back to my mirror. Taking a deep breath, I steel myself for what’s to come. You’ll be fine, Jane. "Jane," my mother calls again. "Coming!" I give myself one last twirl before rushing downstairs to meet her. She smiles warmly as I descend. "You look beautiful, sweetheart." "Thanks, Mother," I giggle, linking my arm with hers. Together, we head toward the ball. The grand hall is breathtaking, illuminated by chandeliers that resemble glowing moons suspended in the air. Elegantly dressed guests fill the space, each more radiant than the last. On one side, mated alphas sit with their Lunas, while the unmated alphas occupy the other side. The she-wolves, brimming with excitement, eagerly await their fated matches. Our alpha makes his entrance alongside his Luna, taking his place of honor. My father, ever the loyal beta, sits beside him. Then, my gaze lands on a particular alpha among the unmated. He stands out—his presence commanding, his beauty almost unreal. How can someone be so flawlessly perfect? A hint of jealousy tugs at me. Is he my mate? I wouldn’t know, lacking a wolf as I do. But it seems unlikely—he radiates power, a force beyond my reach. "What’s wrong? Who are you staring at?" my mother asks, snapping me from my thoughts. "No one," I mumble, then relent. "I just find that man over there... intriguing." She follows my gaze and stiffens. "Jane, do you have any idea who that is?" Her voice is sharp with warning. "That is the most feared and ruthless alpha in history. Do not draw his attention." I frown. He doesn’t appear cruel. With his looks, he could easily be mistaken for a celestial being. But then again, they do say appearances can be deceiving. "Never point at anyone like that again," she warns. "If I were you, I’d focus on finding my mate." "I’m sorry, Mother," I whisper. Before I can say more, her friends whisk her away, leaving me alone. As I wander, the scent of delicious food fills the air, and my stomach growls. I decide to help myself to some snacks, still mesmerized by the dazzling decor. Lost in thought, I don’t see where I’m going until I collide with a firm chest. I stumble, but a strong hand catches my wrist, steadying me. "Watch where you’re going." The voice is deep, commanding. His grip lingers for only a moment before he releases me. "I’m sorry," I stammer, stepping back, my skin tingling from his touch. My heart pounds as conflicting emotions swirl within me. A strange pull urges me toward him, yet doubt clouds my mind. Is he my mate? Could it be him? I lift my gaze and meet a pair of intense, dark eyes staring back at me. My breath catches. It’s him—the alpha my mother just warned me about.
